A liquid ejection head includes a plate with a plurality of nozzles arranged along a first direction through which liquid is ejected. A substrate is on the plate and includes a hole extending along the first direction by which the liquid is supplied. An actuator is on the substrate along the hole. The actuator has a plurality of pressure chambers, from which the liquid from the hole is ejected by the nozzles, and a plurality of air chambers. Each air chamber is between two of the pressure chambers that are adjacent to each other. A plurality of individual electrodes is formed on the substrate and each is connected to a corresponding one of the pressure chambers. A common electrode is formed on the substrate and an inner peripheral surface of the hole.

Liquid ejection head

According to one embodiment, an ink-jet head includes a main body, electrodes, electrically conductive portions, an insulating film, a frame member, a lid member, an electronic component, a protective agent. The main body includes pressure chambers. The insulating film covers the electrodes and a part of the electrically conductive portions. The frame member is attached to the main body from above the insulating film. The protective agent covers an end portion of the insulating film located between the frame member and the electronic component and the electrically conductive portions between the electronic component and the end portion of the insulating film.

Ink-jet head and method of manufacturing ink-jet head

An inkjet head comprises a pressure chamber, piezoelectric elements, and pressure chamber electrodes disposed on an interior side of the pressure chamber, the pressure chamber electrodes being configured to apply a driving voltage to the piezoelectric elements. The inkjet head also includes a nozzle plate adhered to the frame body with the resin film. The nozzle plate includes an ink discharge hole configured to discharge ink. The inkjet head includes a frame body including an attaching part to which a mask that surrounds the outer perimeter of the inkjet head is to be attached. The inkjet head also includes a resin film that coats the pressure chamber electrodes and that includes an end portion that extends to and covers the attaching part. The inkjet head also includes a layer that coats the end portion of the resin film and by which the mask is to be adhered to the frame.

Inkjet head and methods of manufacturing the inkjet head

According to one embodiment, an ink-jet head includes an insulated substrate, a plurality of piezoelectric elements which are formed on the insulated substrate in the form of a line, a pressure chamber formed between the two adjacent piezoelectric elements to which ink is supplied, an electrode formed on a surface of the piezoelectric element and a surface of the insulated substrate, an organic protection film to cover a face of the electrode contacting the ink, a hydrophilic film which is formed to cover the organic protection film at a temperature of not more than 100&#xb0; C., a frame which is provided on the electrode on the insulated substrate to surround the line of the piezoelectric elements, and a nozzle plate provided on the frame having nozzles each opening into the pressure chamber.

According to one embodiment, an ink-jet head includes a substrate, a piezoelectric member, electrically conductive portions, a frame member, an insulating film, an electronic component and a protective agent. The piezoelectric member is mounted on the substrate and includes pressure chambers. The electrically conductive portions extend from the pressure chambers and are disposed on the substrate. The frame member inside which the piezoelectric member is disposed is attached to the substrate from above the electrically conductive portions. The insulating film covers the piezoelectric member, the frame member, and a part of the electrically conductive portions. The electronic component is connected to the electrically conductive portions. The protective agent covers an end portion of the insulating film located between the frame member and the electronic component and the electrically conductive portions between the electronic component and the end portion of the insulating film.

An ink-jet head includes a nozzle array including plural nozzles. The nozzle array has a first nozzle group arranged in the center thereof and second nozzle groups arranged further on outer sides than the first nozzle group. Inter-nozzle pitches of the second nozzle groups are larger than inter-nozzle pitches of the first nozzle group. A direction in which nozzles of the second nozzle group eject an ink and a direction in which nozzles of the first nozzle group eject the ink are different.

Ink-jet head and head unit

An ink evaluation method of the present invention comprises: a first step of making a given amount of solution pass through a filter and measuring time for the solution to pass through the filter; a second measurement step of making pass through the filter the ink having a solid material dispersed in a solvent and having the same viscosity and the same amount as those of the solution, and measuring the time for the ink to pass through the filter (filter passing time); a calculation step of calculating a ratio of the filter passing times between the solution and the ink; and a determination step of determining whether the ink discharging stability index is high or not based on the measured ratio. Thus, since the ink having a high spraying stability index can be easily determined, ones having the high spraying stability index out of plural types of ink may be selected.

Ink evaluation method, ink, and ink jet unit

At least two or more than two ink-jet recording heads provided with respective discharge ports for discharging ink are arranged in the direction of conveyance of recording medium. The inks filled in the respective ink-jet recording heads are made to show different surface tensions. With this arrangement, as inks are discharged onto the recording medium that is conveyed by a conveyor under the control of a drive section, the image formed by the inks discharged onto the recording medium shows an improved quality.
