An active door latch assembly having a striker mounted on a vehicle body so as to be moveable towards and away from the vehicle body, a latch mechanism mounted on a vehicle door for latching the striker thereto upon closing of the door against the vehicle body, and a motor for moving the striker along the direction of the motion of the striker. A detector detects a latched stage of the latch mechanism, and a control circuit for activates the motor so as to move the striker away from the vehicle body when the detector has detected the unlatching of the latch mechanism and towards the vehicle body when the detector has detected the latching of the latch mechanism. Because the motor is activated upon detecting of the latching, premature or belated activation of the motor can be avoided. The detection can be accomplished by detecting the motor of either a latch member which engages the striker or a pawl which engages the latch member at its latched state.

Active door latch assembly

A vehicle steering lock device mounted to an automotive vehicle, in which a rotor in a cylinder lock is rotated to a lock position by the operation relevant to the rotor, comprises switching means for detecting a specific pushing operation to the rotor, etc. and switching means for detecting the situation of a shift lever to a parking position or not, in which rotation of the rotor to the locking position is allowed or inhibited in accordance with signals from both of the switching means and which enable safe parking on a downward slope and can prevent erroneous steering lock operation during down hill running without engine driving.

Vehicle steering lock device

A contact structure of a locking cylinder comprising a pair of contact pieces each extending laterally and pivoted at its one end about a pivot axis parallel to the axial line of the locking cylinder, a pair of springs, each urging the corresponding contact piece inwardly toward the center of the locking cylinder, a pair of stoppers which limit the inward motion of the contact pieces to the positions where they protrude slightly into a bore defined at the entrance to the key hole of the locking cylinder. The radially inner surfaces of the contact pieces of the locking cylinder define contact surface which electrically contact the corresponding contact pieces provided in the side edges of the base end of the shank of the key. This contact structure provides uninterrupted electric conductance between the key and the locking cylinder. To facilitate the insertion of the key into the key hole of the locking cylinder, a guide member may be fitted into the cavity defined between the contact pieces in front of the key hole so as not to interfere with the motion of the contact pieces.
