A transmission line member is constituted as a mirostrip line comprising a conductor line formed on a top surface and a conductor layer formed over an entire back surface. A high frequency signal input to an electrode of a package is transmitted via a bonding wire, the transmission line member, and a bonding wire, to an electrode of a semiconductor laser. As dielectric loss is slight, the transmission line member can transmit a high frequency signal with little loss, thereby improving the high frequency characteristics of a signal to be input to the semiconductor laser.

Optical element module

A finisher includes: a conveyor for conveying sheets; an intermediate stacker on which conveyed sheets are stacked; a stapler for stapling a stacked package of sheets; a sheet delivery device for delivering the stapled package of sheets; an up-and-down sheet exit tray on which the delivered package of sheets is stacked and which can move up and down; a driving device for driving the up-and-down sheet exit tray; an upper limit detector for detecting an upper limit position of a surface of the stapled package of sheets which is stacked on the up-and-down sheet exit tray; and a controller for controlling the driving device, wherein when a mode to staple a package of sheets which is not larger than a predetermined size and not larger than a predetermined number of sheets, is set, the controller temporarily withdraws the up-and-down sheet exit tray from the upper limit to a lower position before the stapled package of sheets has been delivered onto the up-and-down sheet exit tray; and when the sheet delivery device stops, the controller controls the driving device in such a manner that the up-and-down sheet exit tray is moved upward, and stopped at the upper limit position.

Finisher and image forming apparatus therewith

The present invention relates to a sheet finisher, which receives sheets from an image forming apparatus, such as an electro-photographic copying machine, a printer, a facsimile, etc., to align and bind the sheets. There is described a sheet finisher which includes a conveyance roller pair to convey the sheets, an intermediate stacker to stack the sheets, an aligning device to align the sheets stacked on the intermediate stacker, a binder to bind the sheets stacked and aligned on the intermediate stacker, an ejector to convey and eject the sheets bound by the binder, a driver to drive the aligning device, a controller to control the driver and an overlapped sheets conveying device to grip and convey two sheets. In the sheet finisher, the controller controls the driver in a manner such that the aligning device aligns an initial one sheet stacked on the intermediate stacker under a first aligning condition, while the aligning device aligns two overlapped sheets under a second aligning condition.

Sheet finisher, image forming apparatus, and sheet conveyance apparatus

A semiconductor laser module with an optical isolator. A semiconductor laser module includes a substrate provided with a first optical waveguide and a second optical waveguide, a semiconductor laser diode mounted in front of the first optical waveguide on the substrate, and an optical isolator between the first optical waveguide and the second optical waveguide.

Semiconductor laser module

A sheet feeding apparatus for picking up, aligning, and feeding single sheets from a stack of a plurality of such sheets. The apparatus includes a driving means for the pick up, separator, and sheet feeder having a driving motor with a coupling in the drive path which is capable of providing a delay period between forward and backward rotations of the motor. There is a torque regulator between the coupling and a reverse roller which interrupts the driving force for a predetermined time. The apparatus also includes a control which stops the registration rollers while the single sheet collides with the circumferential surfaces thereof for alignment and, upon reversal of the driving motor, the sheet is fed while the reverse roller first stops for the predetermined time and then rotates in a direction opposite to the direction of feeding. Thus, the single sheets are aligned and double feeding is prevented.

Document sheet feeding apparatus

A conveyor receives and holds a recorded sheet discharged from an image forming apparatus, the sheet is conveyed along a path and another conveyor is provided along the path at a predetermined distance from the first conveyor to further convey the sheet. There is a shifting device between the two conveyors for holding and individually shifting groups each containing a prescribed number of sheets, perpendicularly to the conveying direction of the sheets. There is a delivery tray for receiving the sheets delivered by the other conveyor.

Sheet tamping device for offsetting stacks of documents

In a sheet finisher for use with an image forming apparatus, for receiving and aligning sheets discharged from the image forming apparatus, for then stapling the sheets together and for ejecting the stapled sheets to an exit tray, the sheet finisher includes: an intermediate stacker for receiving, aligning and stapling sheets discharged from the image forming apparatus; a conveyor for superimposing a first sheet and a second sheet in a sheet conveyance path upstream of the intermediate stacker, and then for conveying the superimposed sheets to the intermediate stacker to form a succeeding set of sheets to be stapled which follows a preceding set of sheets to be stapled in the intermediate stacker; a driver for driving the conveyor; and a controller for controlling the driver with respect to an operation timing of the driver.

Sheet finisher

An apparatus for sorting sheets on a tray in which a stacking position of sheets is changed for each set number of sheets to one of different stacking positions on the tray, includes a movable pressing member coming in contact with a discharging roller on its low position so that a discharging speed of the sheet is reduced, a movable lower guide plate so that the lower guide plate is positioned lower than a upper portion of the discharging roller on its low position; a sensor to detect a passage of a sheet; and a driving device to move the lower guide plate and the pressing member in response to a signal from the sensor.

Sheet sorting apparatus

In a semiconductor laser device including a stack of semiconductor laser chips, each semiconductor laser chip includes opposite upper and lower surfaces, an upper electrode disposed on a portion of the upper surface, and a lower electrode disposed on a portion of the lower surface. Two adjacent semiconductor laser chips in the stack are connected such that the lower electrode of an upper laser chip is bonded to the upper electrode of a lower laser chip with solder. Since the upper electrode (lower electrode) is disposed on a portion of the upper surface (lower surface) of each laser chip, i.e., it is not disposed over the entire upper surface (lower surface) of the laser chip, the solder hardly flows over the side surface of the laser chip, so that unwanted short-circuiting between the upper electrode and the lower electrode of the laser chip is avoided. In addition, when solder is molten between two electrodes, the molten solder spreads over the surfaces of the electrodes, and the surface tension of the molten solder draws the electrodes to each other so that the electrodes are automatically aligned with each other. Therefore, in this stacked laser device, since the surface tension of the molten solder functions between the upper electrode and the lower electrode of the adjacent laser chips, automatic alignment is performed between these laser chips.

Semiconductor laser device and method of fabricating semiconductor laser

A sheet finishing apparatus for finishing sheets ejected from an image forming apparatus, which has a sheet conveyor, a stacker, a sheet stopper at a lower end of the stacker, a movable alignment plate on at least one side edge position of the sheets. The apparatus further includes a driver for driving the movable alignment plate, a stapler. The apparatus is provided with a controller for controlling the driver such that the movable alignment plate is moved to a first position to receive the sheets, at which the plate is located outside one edge of a width direction of the sheets by a predetermined distance, when the sheets are conveyed onto the stacker from the sheet conveyor; the plate is moved to a second position to align the width direction of a first sheet of a plurality of successive sheets, at which the plate is located closer to the one edge of the sheets than the first position, when the first sheet advances on the stacker toward the sheet stopper; and the plate is moved to a third position to push the one edge of the sheets for alignment after a second and later sheets collide with the sheet stopper.

Sheet finishing apparatus

A light modulator module includes a submount; a semiconductor laser and a semiconductor light modulator having a signal input terminal integrated on the submount, the semiconductor laser outputting laser light and the semiconductor light modulator modulating the laser light in response to a high-frequency signal input to the signal input terminal; a strip line for transmitting the high-frequency signal, the strip line having first and second terminals, the second terminal receiving the high-frequency signal; a terminating resistor terminating the strip line and having opposed first and second ends with the second end being grounded; a first wire connecting the signal input terminal of the semiconductor light modulator to the first terminal of the strip line; and a second wire connecting the first end of the terminating resistor to the signal input terminal of the semiconductor light modulator. In this structure, the inductances of the first and second wires are present between the signal supply and the terminating resistor. When the frequency of the signal is increased, current flowing in the terminating resistor decreases, compensating for an increase in current flowing through the light modulator, whereby the frequency dependence of the total current is reduced. Deviation of impedance from a prescribed value and return loss are reduced.

Light modulator module and method for fabricating light modulator module

A recording sheet finisher in use with an image forming apparatus such as a copier. The recording sheet finisher includes a stacker for stacking recording sheets, an aligning member for aligning the bundle of the recording sheets on the stacker, a counter for counting a number of the recording sheets bundled on the stacker, and a controller for controlling the aligning member so that the aligning member aligns the bundle of recording sheets after a first predetermined time period after the last one of the recording sheets is conveyed onto the other ones when the number of recording sheets bundled on the stacker is 25 or more, and aligns the bundle after a second predetermined time period when the number is not less than 25.

Recording sheet finishing apparatus

A recording sheet finishing apparatus connected with an image forming apparatus, in which recording sheets delivered from the image forming apparatus are stapled and the stapled sheets are ejected. The apparatus includes a plurality of stackers each having at least one stapler. The apparatus further includes a control means in which the recording sheets delivered from the image forming apparatus are stapled alternately by the staplers for each set of recording sheets and after that, each of the stapled set of recording sheets are delivered from the stapler to a delivery sheet tray, where a conveyor belt which transports the stack is operated at two different speeds with an initial speed followed by a faster speed to prevent damage to the stack.

A sorter distributes plural sheets to plural sheet holding bins. The sorter includes the plural sheet holding bins for holding the plural sheets, in which inserting portions of the plural sheet holding bins are aligned in a line in a predetermined direction; a conveyance belt for conveying the plural sheets along the line; a distributor, that is reciprocally movable along the line, for distributing the plural sheets to the plural sheet holding bins; motorized pulleys for winding and unwinding a wire member; the wire member being connected between the motorized pulleys and the distributor; nipping apparatus for nipping and for conveying each of the plural sheets, the nipping apparatus being positioned between the conveyance belt and the wire member.

Sorter for distributing a plurality of sheets to a plurality of sheet

A sorter provided with a stapler for use with an image forming apparatus, in which there are provided a plurality of bins each for accommodating various widths of recording sheets delivered from the image forming apparatus, the center of the sheets being positioned in the center of the bins. An aligner aligns the accommodated sheets by pushing the sides of the sheets toward a reference stop wall on each of the bins, and a casing to house the bins is integrated into a unit. The casing is movable in a direction at right angles to a feeding direction of the sheets, and is moved to correspond with the width of the sheets. The home position of the casing is set to a position where the minimum width of sheets are accommodated.
