An exhaust gas purification catalyst apparatus has a honeycomb base material and a catalyst noble metal supported by the honeycomb base material, wherein: the honeycomb base material contains ceria-zirconia composite oxide particles as one of the constituent materials, is of a wall flow type, and includes inlet-side cells and outlet-side cells demarcated by porous partition walls; the catalyst noble metal is supported in inlet-side support regions and outlet-side support regions; each of the inlet-side support regions is formed with a specific length from the exhaust gas flow upstream end; the catalyst noble metal 70% support depth is not greater than 50% of the thickness of the porous partition walls; each of the outlet-side support regions is formed with a specific length from the exhaust gas flow downstream end; and the catalyst noble metal 70% support depth is greater than 50% of the thickness of the porous partition walls.

Exhaust gas purification catalyst apparatus

An exhaust gas purification catalytic device includes: a substrate; at least one type of noble-metal catalyst that is supported on the substrate; and a coating layer on the surface of the substrate. The substrate includes a plurality of cells which are demarcated by porous walls. The substrate and the coating layer each include ceria-zirconia composite oxide particles.

Exhaust gas purification catalytic device

The present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst including an alkaline earth metal supported in a highly dispersed state on a porous carrier. A catalyst layer of the exhaust gas purification catalyst provided by the invention has an alkaline earth metal-supporting region including a porous carrier, a catalyst metal belonging to the platinum group, and a sulfate of at least one type of alkali earth metal supported on the porous carrier. In a cross-section of this region, a Pearson correlation coefficient Ris at least 0.5 as calculated using &#x3b1; and &#x3b2; for each pixel obtained by carrying out area analysis by FE-EPMA under conditions of pixel size of 0.34 &#x3bc;m&#xd7;0.34 &#x3bc;m, and measured pixel number 256&#xd7;256, and by measuring the characteristic X-ray intensity (&#x3b1;:cps) of the alkaline earth metal element (Ae) and the characteristic X-ray intensity (&#x3b2;:cps) of the main constituent element of the inorganic compound constituting the porous carrier for each pixel.

Exhaust gas purification catalyst

An exhaust gas-purifying catalyst includes a support provided with one or more through-holes through which exhaust gas flows, and a catalytic layer supported by the support and containing an oxygen storage material. The exhaust gas-purifying catalyst includes a first section to which the exhaust gas is supplied, and a second section to which the exhaust gas having passed through the first section is supplied. The catalytic layer includes a layered structure of a first catalytic layer containing platinum and/or palladium and a second catalytic layer containing rhodium in the first catalytic section and further includes a third layer containing rhodium in the second section. The second section is smaller in oxygen storage material content per unit volumetric capacity than the first section.
