A dyeing system includes a conveyance device, a reader, a dye fixing device, and a controller. The conveyance device conveys a conveyance unit including the resin body. The reader reads information relating to the conveyance unit. The dye fixing device heats the resin body in the conveyance unit conveyed by the conveyance device and fixes a dye adhering to a surface of the resin body, on the resin body. The controller acquires a parameter for a process executed to the resin body in the conveyance unit, based on the information read by the reader. The controller controls the dye fixing device based on the acquired parameter.

A dyeing data management method is performed between dyeing systems disposed at different locations. The method includes a first dyeing step of dyeing a lens in a first dyeing system, a first acquisition step of acquiring first result color information of the lens dyed in the first dyeing system, a dyeing data creation step of creating dyeing data based on a discharge amount of dye in the first dyeing step and the first result color information, a data provision step of providing the dyeing data for dyeing a lens to a predetermined color from the first dyeing system to a second dyeing system, a second dyeing step of performing dyeing of a lens according to the provided dyeing data in the second dyeing system, and a second acquisition step of acquiring second result color information of the lens dyed in the second dyeing system.

A dye-deposited base body manufacturing apparatus manufactures a dye-deposited base body. The dye-deposited base body is used in a dyeing step of dyeing a resin body. A dye to be transferred to the resin body is deposited to a base body. The dye-deposited base body manufacturing apparatus is provided with a printing device, a conveyance device, and a base body movement device. The printing device prints a dye for dyeing the resin body on the base body. The dyeing method comprises heating a plastic lens having a dye-coated surface to fix the dye on the surface of the plastic lens. The method comprises the step of applying a laser beam with a wavelength, which is less likely to be absorbed in the dye but it absorbed in the plastic lens, onto the surface of the plastic lens through the dye.

This invention provides a laser marking method that can form a very minute mark of a predetermined shape, such as a letter or pattern, with clarity and high solidity, on the surface of a substrate. The laser marking method of the invention comprises the steps of (1) depositing a coloring material on the surface of a substrate of thermoplastic material to form a thin film of the coloring material, and (2) applying a laser beam to the thin film of the coloring material in conformity with a predetermined marking shape to cause the portions of the substrate irradiated with the laser beam to soften and to cause the thus softened portions to mix with the coloring material, thereby developing the predetermined marking shape on the surface of the substrate.
