An object of the present invention is to provide a method capable of producing a tetraalkoxysilane with a high energy efficiency and with a high yield. The present invention provides a method for producing a tetraalkoxysilane, the method including: a first step of reacting an alcohol with a silicon oxide; and a second step of bringing a vaporized component of the reaction mixture obtained in the first step into contact with a molecular sieve.

In a projection-type video display device that displays an image by projecting the image onto a projection object starting from a desk surface, a display screen on which a position and a gesture operation of a user are reflected is displayed in a predetermined area. An illumination and a camera are disposed in the projection-type video display device installed on the desk surface, a gesture using user's fingers is detected, and, for example, a menu screen and an operation guide are displayed according to the gesture. A display device includes a first interface, a second interface and a display circuit. The display device transmits a first connection confirmation signal to confirm connection, via the first interface to a playback device and receives a response signal in reply to the first connection confirmation signal, transmits a second connection confirmation signal to confirm connection, via the second interface to the playback device and receives a response signal in reply to the second connection confirmation signal, and makes a function to use the first and second interfaces between the display device and the playback device available if both response signals in reply to the first and second connection confirmation signals are received.

A protective film () having a high secondary-emission coefficient is formed on a dielectric layer () so as to lower the discharge voltage of a plasma display panel. When the protective film () is exposed to the air, it will transform or become cloudy, or the secondary-emission coefficient will lower. To prevent this problem, an inert film () is formed on the surface of the protective film (). As the inert film (), a film of a metal oxide such as SiOand a film of a metal such as Tb are simultaneously formed. Thus, an inert film () excellent in barrier property against oxygen and water in the air and enabling easy sputtering from near the discharge electrode at the aging step can be obtained. With this, a plasma display panel exhibiting a low discharge voltage can be realized.

A depression is formed on the surface of a lower magnetic pole layer in a thin film magnetic head. A lower auxiliary magnetic pole is defined in the lower magnetic pole layer between the depression and a medium-opposed surface of a head slider. The depression is filled up with a non-magnetic material. When the thin film magnetic head is to be formed, no magnetic layer is formed on the lower magnetic pole layer for forming the lower auxiliary magnetic pole. A dry process such as sputtering and vapor-deposition can be employed to form the lower magnetic pole layer, so that a wider choice can be provided for the material of the lower magnetic pole layer and the lower auxiliary magnetic pole.

A liquid resist is introduced between adjacent conductive lines of a coil pattern girdling around a magnetic core piece. When the liquid resist is cured, an insulating resin filler can be fixed between the adjacent conductive lines of the coil pattern. An insulating metallic layer is formed to extend over the insulting resin filler and the conductive lines of the coil pattern. Thereafter, the insulating metallic layer is subjected to a flattening grinding treatment until at least a part of the conductive line is exposed at a flattened surface. Of the resist, of a higher fluidity, penetrates in every hole and corner between the adjacent conductive lines, the gap defined between the adjacent conductive lines is fully filled with the insulating material. No voids remain in the gap. The conductive line of the coil can be reliably prevented from corrosion or oxidation. Moreover, a relatively brittle of fragile insulating resin filler is reliably prevented from being subjected to the flattening.

Method of producing thin film magnetic head

A thin film magnetic head includes an upper and a lower magnetic pole layer extending forward from a central magnetic core within a thin film coil. A narrow upper and lower front magnetic pole piece are connected to the front ends of the upper and lower magnetic pole layer, respectively. The upper front magnetic pole piece extends rearward from its front end exposed at a medium-opposed surface. The lower front magnetic pole piece extends in a lateral direction along the medium-opposed surface by a lateral width larger than that of the upper front magnetic pole piece. The lower front magnetic pole piece extends rearward from the medium-opposed surface by a longitudinal length smaller than that of the upper front magnetic pole piece. The lower front magnetic pole piece serves to concentrate the magnetic flux at the front ends of the upper and lower front magnetic pole pieces. Since the lower front magnetic pole piece is designed to have a larger lateral width in the lateral direction irrespective of a smaller length in the longitudinal direction, the production of the lower front magnetic pole piece can remarkably be facilitated.

A method is provided for manufacturing a magnetic head for recording information on a magnetic recording medium in the form of a direction of magnetization, which enables manufacture of a magnetic head with gaps between turns of a conductive material constituting a coil being filled with an insulating material without any void and heat generation in the coil being suppressed. A photoresist with a higher flowability than an insulating material containing a metal element is applied to the coil. A part of the photoresist applied to the coil which covers the conductive material constituting the coil is removed by exposure and development, and on the conductive material, an insulating metal compound layer made of an insulating material containing a metal element and having a higher thermal conductivity than the photoresist is formed and polished for flattening.
