A disk case in which the downsizing of a disk is enabled, maintaining the ease of handling in the same manner as the current 8-cm disk cartridge, and that can be mounted on the current 12-cm drive by using a simplified adapter is provided. The shape of the disk case that involves an 8-cm disk is not a square but almost a circle. Further, the opening width of the disk case is 39 mm or more. An arm for ejecting the disk is arranged at the disk case opening side.

Disk case

In order to obtain an optical transmitter module for converting an input electric signal to a light signal with fidelity and outputting it therefrom, a terminal resistor Rt and an optical modulator MD are connected in parallel within a package including a laser diode with a monolithically integrated optical modulator for obtaining the light signal according to the electric signal. One thereof is grounded and the other thereof is connected to a wire inductance (L ) and an impedance matching resistor Rd in series with this parallel connection. Further, a high frequency transmission line (micro-strip line) MSL for the transmission of the electric signal is connected to the other end of the impedance matching resistor Rd.

A document processing apparatus and method extracts, from document data, both a first word, whose translation is to be determined, and a second word that is either the preceding word or the subsequent word of the first word. Then a keyword is extracted based on the frequency of occurrence of the first word and the keyword is translated into a predetermined language by referring to a dictionary in a process that considers a meaning of the first and second words existing together in the document data.

In a sentence processing apparatus, a possibly erroneous word is extracted from a sentence by analyzing the sentence in accordance with predetermined grammar and predetermined information on words, information on suggested words which correspond to the extracted possibly erroneous word is extracted from the predetermined information on words, and information on the extracted possibly erroneous word and the information on the corresponding extracted suggested words are displayed. Accordingly, the information on the possibly erroneous word in the sentence can be briefly displayed, thus a user can easily edit the sentence in response to the displayed information.

A natural language processing apparatus for performing processing operations to analyze the meaning of an input sentence entered in the form of a natural language includes a plurality of meaning analyzing devices networked in order to perform processing to analyze the meaning of the input sentence. The meaning analyzing devices perform meaning analyzing operations that differ from one another and output the results of analysis on a network. Also provided is a communicating device for applying the input sentence, which is a subject of analysis, to each of the plurality of meaning analyzing devices, a decision device for determining whether independent meaning analysis performed by the plurality of meaning analyzing devices is required with regard to the input sentence, and a consolidating device for consolidating the analytical results from each of the plurality of meaning analyzing devices and applying the consolidated results to the communicating device as the subject of analysis which the communicating device applies to each of the meaning analyzing devices.

A system and method for generating a sentence from an inputted semantic representation includes a memory for storing a limitation which a generated sentence should satisfy generator, a generating sentence from the inputted semantic representation based upon the stored limitation, an evaluator for evaluation the generated results, and an altering device for altering the stored limitation based upon the evaluation. A cycle composed of sentence generation, evaluation of the generated sentence and alteration of the limitation is repeated until the evaluation satisfies a predetermined criterion.

A multi-level voltage supply for liquid crystal display devices employs complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors. The supply circuit proper includes a p type and an n type MOSFET which are connected in series with each other. A plurality of n-type MOSFETs are grouped together in pairs with their source and gate electrodes connected together and being connected in parallel with the first-mentioned n-type MOSFET. A plurality of voltage levels are applied to the circuit, the lowest of which is applied to the first-mentioned n-type MOSFET. Intermediate voltage levels are applied to the plural parts of n-type MOSFETs. Multi-level voltages for driving the liquid crystal display devices are provided at the connection point of the P-type MOSFET and the N-type MOSFETs of the plurality. As a result, it is possible to prevent the flow of a D.C. current between the lowest level voltage source and the intermediate level voltage source.
