The image of a subject is sensed in a photo studio using a digital still camera, and a thumbnail image containing less data than a high-resolution main image representing the image of the subject is generated. Data representing the generated thumbnail image is transmitted to a file apparatus located in another room. The thumbnail-image data requires a shorter transmission time because it contains a smaller amount of data. As a result, the thumbnail image representing the subject is displayed more rapidly.

Image sensing system

The image of a subject is displayed on a display screen of a liquid crystal display device provided on the back side of a digital camera. An assistance frame is displayed in a form superimposed on the image of the subject and the composition of a photograph to be obtained by shooting the subject is decided based upon the assistance frame. As the user decides the composition of a photograph in accordance with the assistance frame, the user acquires a well-balanced photographic technique.

Digital still camera with composition assist function, and method of controlling operation of same

A digital electric still camera is provided having a CCD image sensor and a memory card for recording digital image data of picture frames photographed by the CCD image sensor. The image data is compressed before being recorded, and the data compression rate is selectable by operating a picture mode button. The selected data compression rate is recorded along with the image data during photographing. When reproducing a picture frame on a monitor TV, the data compression rate is read together with the image data, so that the image data is expanded in correspondence to the data compression rate, and the data compression rate is displayed on a display device, such as a LCD panel provided on the digital electric still camera, in association with the serial number of the picture frame.

A picture-taking system includes a film camera for capturing a photographic image of a subject on photosensitive film, and a video camera having a solid-state electronic image sensing device 12, for outputting a video signal representing the photographic image of the subject. Essentially the same photographic image of the subject is photographed by both the film camera and the video camera under a single strobe flash generated by a strobe light-emission device 40. To achieve this synchronized photography and simplify the synchronized photography control system, it is arranged so that the video camera responds to a photographic trigger signal from a shutter switch by generating, and applying to the film camera, a shutter release signal the vertical synchronizing signal of the video camera as a reference. The shutter of the film camera starts opening in response to the shutter release signal. Upon passage of a fixed time up to the moment at which the shutter is opened fully, the video camera generates an electronic-shutter control signal using its vertical synchronizing signal as a reference and initiates exposure of the solid-state electronic image sensing device. Immediately thereafter, the video camera applies a strobe fire-permitting signal to the strobe light-emission device to fire a strobe flash.

System for and method of taking picture

An amount-of-light-emission control data for controlling the amount of light-emission is corrected so that the amount of strobe light-emission becomes proper. In the adjustment process after manufacturing a digital still camera, a subject is placed in a predetermined position, and is photographed by determining a predetermined guide number GN. A guide number GN corresponding to the amount of light-emission of a strobe 45 is calculated from a video signal obtained by the photography. The predetermined actual guide number GN and the guide number GN corresponding to the actual amount of light-emission are compared with each other, to correct the value of control data for determining the amount of light-emission so that there is no difference therebetween. The corrected or updated value of control data in which the predetermined updated corrected guide number GN and the guide number GN corresponding to the actual amount of light-emission are approximately equal to each other is stored in a memory 6. At the time of actual photography, the updated corrected value of control data is read out from the memory 6 in conformity with the updated corrected guide number GN, and the data read out is applied to an amount-of-light-emission control circuit 30, so that a strobe flash is fired.

In a method of and apparatus for split photometry, a plurality of split photometric areas are established by setting a plurality of horizontal and vertical photometric intervals respectively within intervals in a horizontal scanning direction and a vertical scanning direction of the solid-state electronic image sensing device. An extracted luminance-signal component is integrated over a horizontal integration interval designated by an integration control signal. Integrated values obtained by the integration operation are summed, in every split photometric area, over the corresponding vertical photometric interval, and a photometric value is calculated for every split photometric area based upon the value obtained by summing the integrated values in another embodiment, data for controlling exposure or controlling the focusing of an image pick-up lens can be obtained for each of a plurality of blocks set in a photographic area. From data representing the image of a subject, a luminance signal is generated and converted into digital luminance data which is applied to a gate array. The luminance data is summed block by block in the gate array and the summed data is outputted in block units. Only the necessary data is selected from the summed luminance data of every block and a photometric value is calculated. A diaphragm and an electronic shutter is controlled based upon the photometric value calculated. A high-frequency component signal for focusing control can be calculated for each and every block in a similar manner.

A video signal, which is obtained from a solid-state electronic image sensing device, is used to obtain a photometric value corresponding to the environment in which a subject is present. Photometric areas that differ for every field in one frame are set within a photographic area of a CCD. A luminance-signal component extracted from the video signal by a Y.sub.L synthesizing circuit is integrated by an integrating circuit, under the control of a CPU, with respect to a horizontal scanning interval and vertical scanning interval corresponding to the photometric area. Obtained integrated values are added field by field and a photometric value is calculated field by field from the value resulting from adding the integrated values.

Video camera, method of photometry therein, and method of focusing same

A mechanism for moving an object rectilinearly by reducing the speed of motor rotation and converting this rotational motion into rectilinear motion is provided with a first sensor for generating first pulses having a frequency conforming to the rotational speed of the motor, a second sensor for generating second pulses having a frequency conforming to the reduced rotational speed and a pulse interval which is n times that of the first pulses, and third sensor for generating a third output when the object arrives at a predetermined position. A counter is initialized when the first pulse, second pulse and third output satisfy a predetermined condition. Depending upon the direction in which the object is moved, the first pulses are counted up or down by counter. Whenever the second pulses are generated, the count recorded in the counter is forcibly corrected to the value of n.times.m (where m is 0 or an integer) that is closest to the count.

Position detecting apparatus

A DC amplifier includes first and second transistors, an emitter resistor, and a load resistor. The first and second transistors constitute a differential amplification transistor pair. The emitter resistor is connected between the emitters of the first and second transistors. The load resistor is connected between the collectors of the transistors. The resistance of the load resistor is set to be 1/2 that of the emitter resistor. The emitters of third and fourth transistors equivalent to the first and second transistors are series-connected to the collectors of the first and second transistors through the load resistor. The biases of the third and fourth transistors are set to be close to those of the first and second transistors.

A method of manufacturing a printed wiring board completely free from trouble of solder bridging. The printed wiring board of the present invention is provided with a raised portion of solder resist ink in the form of a ridge around the periphery of the land to be printed or at an area between adjacent lands to be soldered, the said raised portion being an extension of a solder resist thin layer coated on the insulator base board exclusive the said land. The method for manufacturing the aforesaid printed wiring borad comprises the steps of placing an ink-permeable mesh screen above the insulator base board with an anti-ink-permeable membrane piece closely contacted with the land to be printed, the said mesh screen being integrally provided with the said anti-ink-permeable membrane piece having the same shape and located at the same position as that the said land, applying resist ink over the said mesh screen, and performing printing operation with the aid of a squeezing device which serves to depress the mesh screen onto the insulator base board is also provided in accordance with the present invention. Protrusion of the said integrally fastened anti-ink-permeable membrane piece from the said mesh screen, that is, the substantial thickness of the said membrane piece is specified in the range of 40 to 100 .mu.m.

Method for applying a solder resist ink to a printed wiring board

Provided in this invention is an automatic production system for printed-wiring boards by delivering and transferring the drilled and contoured copper-clad bases one by one successively by an automatic transfer means such as conveyor and performing the necessary treatments such as pattern printing, drying, etching, etc., automatically during transfer of the bases. The automatic printed-wiring board production system according to this invention comprises a material feeder whereby the stacked-up copper-clad bases are stored and automatically delivered onto the transfer line one by one, a pretreatment unit for performing washing, buffing and drying of the bases, first to sixth straighteners, first to fourth automatic printers, a dryer for forced-drying the printed pattern on the copper foil, an etcher for etching away the extra printed foil at other parts than the printed pattern on the copper foil, a washing means for washing away ink on the printed circuitry, first to fourth pushers, first to fourth loading stockers, first and second buffing/drying means, first and second cooling means, first and second automatic reversers, and a final finisher which gives a fluxing treatment. All of these elements are arranged in predetermined sequence along the transfer line.

Automatic production system for printed-wiring boards

A new and unique printed wiring board completely free from trouble of solder bridging that often takes place with the conventional printed wiring board. The printed wiring board of the present invention is provided with a raised portion of solder resist ink in the form of a ridge around the periphery of the land to be printed or at an area between adjacent lands to be soldered, the said raised portion being an extension of a solder resist thin layer coated on the insulator base board exclusive the said land.

A frequency conversion system for converting high to low frequencies. The system comprises a first frequency dividing means for frequency dividing the frequency of an input signal into 1/MN of the same, a voltage controlled oscillator, a second frequency dividing means for frequency dividing the output frequency of the voltage controlled oscillator into 1/(N + 1) of the same, a phase detector for controlling the voltage controlled oscillator such that the frequencies of the respective outputs of the first and second frequency dividing means are equal to one another, and means for sampling the input signal by using the output frequency of the voltage controlled oscillator to lower the frequency of the input signal to 1/N thereof.
