Disclosed are a photonic multiband filter and a method of operating the same. The photonic multiband filter includes an optical frequency comb that forms multiple optical channels based on a single light source incident from an outside, a modulator that applies an RF signal modulated into an optical domain among a plurality of RF signals to the multiple optical channels, and a pulse shaper that determines a center frequency, a bandwidth, and a passband shape of the RF signal modulated into the optical domain including the multiple optical channels.

Photonic multi-band filter and method of operating same

Disclosed is an air screen detector device. The air screen detector device includes a display for displaying an air screen image in one direction by using visible light, an infrared light source disposed on the display to provide infrared light in the same direction as that of the visible light, an infrared image sensor disposed on one side of the display and the infrared light source to receive the infrared light reflected by a finger provided in the air screen image disposed on the other side of the infrared light source, a first multifocal lens disposed between the infrared image sensor and the infrared light source to provide the infrared light to the infrared image sensor, and a visible light filter disposed between the first multifocal lens and the infrared image sensor to remove the visible light.

Air screen detector device

Disclosed is an electro-optic modulator. The electro-optic modulator includes a lower clad layer disposed on a substrate, an optical waveguide disposed on the lower clad layer, traveling-wave electrodes respectively disposed on both sides of the optical waveguide and each having a first distance to the optical waveguide, and ferroelectric blocks disposed between the traveling-wave electrodes and the lower clad layer and each having a second distance to the optical waveguide, which is less than the first distance.

Electro-optic modulator

Disclosed is a multi-channel optical signal generating apparatus, which includes a CW laser that generates a single optical signal, an optical signal processor unit that processes the single optical signal, an oscillator that generates an electrical signal, and an electrical signal processor unit that generates a modulation signal, based on the electrical signal, and the optical signal processor unit includes 'n' optical circulators, at least one optical intensity modulator, (m-) optical phase modulators, and 'n' BiODLs, the electrical signal processor unit includes a RF power divider which divides the electrical signal, and &#x2018;m&#x2019; RF power amplifiers, the RF power divider divides the electrical signal into &#x2018;m&#x2019; divided electrical signals, and the optical signal processor unit modulates and outputs the single optical signal by the at least one optical intensity modulator and the (m-) optical phase modulators, based on the &#x2018;m&#x2019; divided electrical signals divided from the RF power divider.

Apparatus for generating optical signal of multi-channel

Provided are an optical waveform shaping apparatus and an optical waveform shaping method. According to an embodiment, the optical waveform shaping apparatus includes a multiplexer/demultiplexer (D/MUX) unit demultiplexing an optical signal in which optical signals of a plurality of wavelengths are multiplexed, a micro lens system refracting the demultiplexed optical signal into a collimated beam of light, and a wavelength level controller unit shaping a waveform of the optical signal. The wavelength level controller unit includes a 2D LCoS for adjusting and reflecting an amplitude or a phase value of the demultiplexed optical signal to have a distribution that is desired for each cell, and a controller for controlling the distribution.

Apparatus and method for shaping optical waveform

An embodiment of the inventive concept includes an optical signal generating circuit, a controlling circuit, a waveform shaping circuit, and an output circuit. The optical signal generating circuit generates a first optical signal including pulses. The controlling circuit generates a control signal indicating a first pulse to be attenuated in magnitude among the pulses. The waveform shaping circuit attenuates a magnitude of the first pulse based on the control signal and the first optical signal, and generates a second optical signal including pulses corresponding to the pulses included in the first optical signal and the first pulse having the attenuated magnitude. The output circuit outputs an electric signal of bands corresponding to differences between frequencies of the pulses included in the second optical signal based on the second optical signal. A band corresponding to the first pulse among the bands of the electric signal is adjusted as the magnitude of the first pulse is attenuated.

Waveform generator

A radio frequency signal generation device may include an optical comb generator configured to generate an optical comb signal including a plurality of first wavelength signals having different wavelengths; a pulse shaper configured to attenuate remaining wavelength signals excluding a plurality of second wavelength signals among the plurality of first wavelength signals; an optical-electronic converter configured to generate a radio frequency signal including a carrier frequency signal from the plurality of second wavelength signals outputted from the pulse shaper; and a pulse shaping controller configured to control the pulse shaper such that a carrier frequency of the carrier frequency signal varies according to a frequency hopping pattern.

Radio frequency signal generation device, and transmitter and receiver including the same

Provided is a laser radar system. The laser radar system includes a first transmission and reception unit sequentially radiating a first laser beam to a plurality of locations within a first view range and receiving a reflected light; and a second transmission and reception unit sequentially radiating a second laser beam to a plurality of locations within a second view range and receiving a reflected light, wherein each of the first transmission and reception unit and the second transmission and reception unit is fixed to a loader and independently searches for the first view range and the second view range.

Laser radar system for obtaining a 3D image

A method of operating a wavelength swept source apparatus includes generating a single mode light, and generating a basic optical comb including light rays having identical frequency differences with adjacent light rays by modulating the generated single mode light. The method further includes generating other optical combs that include the same number of light rays as that of light rays of the optical comb that has a frequency band different from that of the basic optical comb, and is distributed in a frequency band wider than that in which the basic optical comb is distributed, by modulating the light rays of the basic optical comb. The light rays of the basic optical comb and the light rays included in the other optical combs are sequentially emitted according to frequencies of the light rays of the basic optical comb and the light rays included in the other optical combs.
