The present invention provides a main catalyst component for olefin polymerization, which is prepared by a process comprising the steps of: (i) reacting a magnesium compound in nascent state having a rational formula (RMgX)(MgX), in which R is an alkyl having from 3 to 12 carbon atoms, X is a halogen, and y is a value of from 0.02 to 1, with an alcohol having a formula ROH, in which Ris an alkyl having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms, to form a homogeneous solution; (ii) reacting an alkyl magnesium compound having a formula R'MgR&#x2033;, in which R&#x2032; and R&#x2033; are independently an alkyl having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, with the homogeneous solution formed in the step (i) to form a magnesium complex; (iii) reacting the magnesium complex with a halogenating agent in the presence of a silica, to form a magnesium halide-containing intermediate product; and (iv) reacting the magnesium halide-containing intermediate product from the step (iii) with a titanium compound having a formula Ti(OR)Cl, in which Ris an alkyl having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms and m is an integer of from 0 to 4, to form a titanium-containing main catalyst component. The main catalyst component of the invention, when used together with an orgaoaluminium cocatalyst component in a single polymerization stage in one reactor to catalyze the polymerization of ethylene to polyethylene, gives a polyethylene having a molecular weight distribution of from 6 to 10.

Main catalyst component for olefin polymerization, a process for preparing the same and a catalyst comprising the same

The present invention relates to a catalyst for polymerization of ethylene, a process for preparing the same, and a method for controlling kinetic behavior of said catalyst in ethylene polymerization. Said catalyst contains a titanium-containing main catalyst component and a co-catalyst. The titanium-containing main catalyst component is prepared by reacting the following components: (1) a hydrocarbon solution of dialkylmagnesium compound of formula RMgR'.yEtAl; (2) an alcohol compound of formula ROH; (3) a silica support thermally activated at 200-800&#xb0; C.; (4) an alkylaluminum compound of formula RAlCl; (5) a linear halogenated alkane of formula RX; and (6) a titanium compound of formula Ti(OR)Cl. The co-catalyst is an organoaluminum compound. Three different types of ethylene polymerization kinetic curves can be obtained by adjusting the temperature for thermally activating the silica support and the ratio of titanium to magnesium in the titanium-containing main catalyst component.

Catalyst for ethylene polymerization, preparation thereof, and method for controlling the polymerization kinetic behavior of said catalyst

The present invention provides a high-activity solid main catalyst component for ethylene polymerization, a process for preparing the same and a catalyst containing the same. The main catalyst component consists essentially of a magnesium compound, a titanium compound, an electron donor, an alkyl aluminum compound and fumed silica, and is prepared by a process comprising the step of: reacting powdered magnesium with an alkyl halide to form a magnesium compound in the nascent state; adding the magnesium compound in the nascent state together with a titanium compound and an alkyl aluminum compound into an electron donor to form a complex; adding and well dispersing a fumed silica thereto to form a homogeneous thick mixture; molding and drying the mixture to form main catalyst component particles with good particle morphology; and optionally, dispersing the main catalyst component particles into a hydrocarbon solvent or a mineral oil to form a slurry. The main catalyst component has high magnesium/titanium ratio, high titanium content, high polymerization activity, moderate initial activity so that polymerization can be stably performed, and there is little or no agglomerates during the preparation of the main catalyst component.

Solid main catalyst component for ethylene polymerization, a process for preparing the same and a catalyst containing the same

The present invention discloses a polyethylene catalyst and a process for preparing the same, said catalyst being composed of a main component of catalyst and a cocatalyst, wherein the main component of catalyst is prepared by reacting: (1) a magnesium-alcohol complex, (2) an alkyl aluminum compound having a formula RAlClsupported on silica, and (3) a titanium compound having a formula Ti(OR)Cl, and the cocatalyst is an organic aluminum compound. The catalyst of the present invention has advantages including high polymerization activity, less difference between the polymerization activities at low hydrogen level condition and at high hydrogen level condition, stable polymerization reaction, good particle morphology of catalyst, and less fine powder of polymer product.

Polyethylene catalyst and a process for preparing the same

The present invention provides an ethylene polymerization catalyst. The present invention also provides a process for preparing the ethylene polymerization catalyst, comprising reacting powdered magnesium with an alkyl halide of formula RX in the presence of an ether solvent to form a magnesium compound having a structure represented by the formula (RMgX)(MgX), in which R is an alkyl group having from 3 to 12 carbon atoms, X is halogen, and molar ratio of q to p is in the range of from larger than 0 to 1, impregnating the magnesium compound onto silica carrier, reacting the silica loading the magnesium compound with an alkyl halide of formula RX, a titatium compound and an alkyl aluminum compound to form a main catalyst component, contacting the main catalyst component with a cocatalyst component to form catalyst for ethylene polymerization. The present invention also relates to the use of the catalyst in the polymerization of ethylene.

Catalyst for polymerization of ethylene, preparation thereof and use of the same

Disclosed is a high activity solid catalyst for synthesizing low-, medium- and high-density polyethylenes by a slurry phase process, prepared by using commercial powered magnesium as raw material, forming a magnesium halide in the nascent state, followed by successively treating said magnesium halide with an alcohol compound and an alkyl aluminum compound, then reacting the resulting suspension of the spheroidal, porous solid complex carrier with a titanium compound in the presence of an electron donor compound an alkyl aluminum compound to obtain a main catalyst component and finally mixing the catalyst component with an organometallic compound as cocatalyst. The catalyst according to the present invention is characterized by a simple preparation procedure, high polymerization activity, high sensitivity to the modification by hydrogen, high copolymerization power and smooth and stable polymerization reaction when used for slurry phase polymerizing ethylene, and the products thus obtained have good particle morphology.

High activity solid catalyst for producing low-, medium-, and high-density polyethylenes by slurry phase polymerization, process for preparing the same and use of the same in ethylene polymerization

Disclosed is a catalyst for synthesizing low-, medium- and high-density polyethylene, prepared by using commercial powdered magnesium as a raw material, forming a magnesium halide in the nascent state, then reacting said magnesium halide with a titanium compound and an alkyl aluminum compound in the presence of an electron donor compound to form a complex, supporting said complex onto silica carrier and drying the resulting mixture by heating to form a solid main catalyst component, and finally mixing said main catalyst component with an organometallic compound as cocatalyst. The catalyst according to the present invention is characterized by a simple preparing procedure, smooth and stable reaction, uniform heat liberation and less agglomerates when used for gas phase polymerizing ethylene, high polymerization activity, high sensitivity to the modification by hydrogen and high copolymerization power, and the products thus obtained have good product morphology.
