An operation method of a direct memory access (DMA) circuit comprising a buffer circuit and two channels includes following steps: determining first and second start addresses from the buffer circuit respectively according to first and second read requests of first and second channels that respectively correspond to first and second data; determining a read address according to the first start address and a read count; reading a first part of the first data from the buffer circuit according to the read address and updating the read count; reading at least one part of the second data from the buffer circuit according to the second start address after reading the first part of the first data; updating the read address according to the first start address and the updated read count; and reading a second part of the first data from the buffer circuit according to the updated read address.

Direct memory access (DMA) circuit and operation method thereof

The present disclosure discloses an image decryption method that includes steps outlined below. Control information in an image stream is read and decrypted. Image stream packets in the image stream are read according to the control information. According to the control information, pixel data of a first reference frame from a first temporary storage block of a memory module and/or of a second reference frame from a second temporary storage block of the memory module are selectively read. A decryption process is performed according to the image stream packets and selectively according to the pixel data of the first and/or the second reference frame to generate pixel data of a decrypted frame. During the decryption process, the pixel data of the decrypted frame is transmitted to a post-processing circuit and is stored to one of the first and the second temporary storage blocks according to the control information.

The present disclosure discloses a multi-stream image processing method that includes steps outlined below. Image streams that include a main image stream and at least one sub image stream are generated by a former stage circuit, wherein a resolution of the main image stream is higher than the resolution of the sub image stream. Within an image frame processing time period, a N-th sub image frame is stored in a current sub image storage block in a memory module and a N-th main image frame is stored in a current main image storage block in the memory module by the former stage circuit. A data processing method during a boot procedure of a smart device is provided. The data processing method includes: when a data request is detected during the boot procedure of the smart device, looking up whether a page cache pre-storing a small data file required for booting includes requested data of the data request, the small data file being file having a data amount smaller than a predetermined threshold; when the page cache includes the requested data, determining whether the data request is a data reading request or a data writing request; when the data request is the data reading request, duplicating the requested from the page cache to a system memory according to the data request. A boot time can be reduced through the above method.

A hardware control method for multitasking drivers under a user mode is provided. The control method includes steps of: receiving a request for access to a hardware device from a current process under the user mode; determining whether the current process has obtained a mutual exclusion (mutex) of the hardware device; if affirmative, determining whether an identification of the current process and an identification of a previous process accessed the hardware device are the same; if negative, performing a context switch on the current process and the previous process accessed the hardware device to allow the current process to access the hardware device. Accordingly, when accessing complicated hardware devices, the disclosure significantly enhances driver performance under a user mode while also implementing secured random access to hardware devices in a multitasking environment.

A video data conversion method is provided. The video data conversion method comprises the following steps. Video images currently played on a video source are captured, and are converted into dynamic texture data having a size and a format that meet requirements of a three-dimensional (3D) engine. The dynamic texture data is sent to the 3D engine, which then generates a map from the dynamic texture data. The map is mapped to a 3D user interface (UI) to generate a dynamic texture map.
