An earplug-type earphone is disclosed including: an earplug () for producing sound and an elastic support (). The earplug () includes a front housing () and a rear housing () connected in that order. The elastic support () is positioned on an outer side of the rear housing (). When the earplug () is inserted in the external auditory canal, the elastic support () is pressed and deformed and then applies resilience to the helix, by which the earplug can be stably positioned in the external auditory canal.

There are a plurality of light emitters and light detectors located around a circumference of the circular support member for respectively emitting light signals into different areas of tissue surrounding the body part, and receiving reflected light signals from the different areas of tissue surrounding the body part.
