Methods, systems, and devices for dynamic rate matching patterns for spectrum sharing are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may measure one or more interference levels associated with resources of a physical resource block (e.g., interference levels associated with respective subcarriers or other division in the frequency domain, with respective symbol durations or other division in the time domain, or a combination thereof), and determine a rate matching pattern based on the interference level measurements. In some examples, the rate matching pattern may include a pattern of resources for communications between the UE and a base station (e.g., for downlink communications). The UE may transmit an indication of the rate matching pattern to the base station, and the base station may schedule or transmit one or more subsequent downlink transmissions based at least in part on the indication of the rate matching pattern received from the UE.

Dynamic rate matching patterns for spectrum sharing

Methods related to wireless communication systems and uplink (UL) rank adaptation are provided. A user equipment (UE) receives, from a base station (BS), a configuration indicating a resource associated with a plurality of UL reference signal ports. The UE determines, based on at least one of an overheating status, a throughput, or a latency, a quantity of transmission layers for a transmission. The UE transmits, to the BS, an indication of at least one of (1) one or more UL reference signal ports of the plurality of UL reference signal resources associated with the UL reference signal resource based on the quantity of transmission layers, or (2) a number of UL reference signal ports associated with the multi-port UL reference signal resource based on the quantity of transmission layers.

Uplink rank adaptation for MIMO communication

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) on/off synchronization coordination between user equipment and network are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a UE capability message that indicates that the UE has capability to support C-DRX on/off synchronization coordination with the network entity. The UE may receive a DRX synchronization coordination configuration based on the UE capability message, the DRX synchronization coordination configuration configuring the UE with the C-DRX on/off synchronization coordination with the network entity. The UE may determine that an inactivity timer associated with the DRX synchronization coordination configuration is within a threshold time to expire, and transmit special uplink signaling indicating that the UE intends to transition into an off duration in a DRX cycle based on the inactivity timer being within the threshold time to expire.

Connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) on/off synchronization coordination between user equipment and network

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for interference mitigation techniques between wireless communications and aircraft radio altimeters. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support one or more signaling- or configuration-based interference avoidance mechanisms associated with usage of a C-band at one or both of the UE and the network entity. The UE may support a capability according to which the UE is able to monitor a frequency band used by aircraft radio altimeters and the UE may request a modification to a C-band connection (such as request a release of the C-band connection) if the UE detects or measures signaling from an aircraft radio altimeter. Similarly, the network entity may modify the C-band connection if the network entity receives the request from the UE or itself detects or measures signaling from an aircraft radio altimeter.

Interference mitigation techniques between wireless communications and aircraft radio altimeters

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a bandwidth size indication that indicates a respective bandwidth size configured for each operating configuration of a set of operating configurations supported at the UE. The UE may transmit, to the base station, a priority indication for at least one operating configuration of the set of operating configurations based on the bandwidth size indication. The priority indication may correspond to a bandwidth size of the at least one operating criterion satisfying one or more criteria for data traffic. The base station may transmit, to the UE, a configuration indication that indicates to communicate according to a first operating configuration of the set of operating configurations based on the priority indication. The UE may communicate the data traffic with the base station based on the first operating configuration.

A method for wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes transmitting, to a first network, a first message comprising a first measurement gap configuration, a measurement gap reconfiguration, a selection from a measurement gap pool, or a measurement gap release. The method also includes receiving a second message, from the first network. The second message may configure a measurement gap, reconfigure a measurement gap, or release a measurement gap. The second message may also suspend data communication from the UE during a configured measurement gap. The method additionally includes suspending communication with the first network during the configured measurement gap. The communication may be suspended to save power, tune away for a multiple subscriber identity module (MSIM) of the UE, or measure a neighbor cell.

A user equipment (UE) measures a first measurement on a first serving cell or a first serving beam using at least one of a first receiver or a first measurement configuration with higher gain and power consumption. The UE measures a second measurement on one or more neighbor cells or one or more non-serving beams using at least one of a second receiver or a second measurement configuration with lower gain and power consumption, the second receiver being different than the first receiver or the second measurement configuration being different than the first measurement configuration. The UE transmits a measurement report to a network node based on the first measurement and the second measurement, selects a second serving cell or second serving beam based on the first measurement and the second measurement based on a rank, or ranks cells or beams based on the first measurement and the second measurement.

The method also includes performing interference cancellation based on the information. The method also includes transmitting the information to assist a user equipment (UE) with interference cancellation of the neighbor cell.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for adding and releasing secondary cells in a multi-cell connectivity configuration. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE assistance information to a base station (BS) operating as a master cell in a multi-cell connectivity configuration. The UE assistance information may indicate a process that the BS is to use to add a secondary cell to the multi-cell connectivity configuration, may indicate a time gap for adding a secondary cell after another secondary cell is released from the multi-cell connectivity configuration, as well as other multi-cell connectivity configuration information. The BS may receive the UE assistance information and may add a secondary cell to the multi-cell connectivity configuration based at least in part on the indicated process and time gap.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for implementing a channel state information (CSI) measurement and reporting protocol for dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) in a wireless communication network. In some aspects, a BS may transmit control messages periodically and aperiodically that configure a UE to perform signal quality measurements and transmit signal quality reports. When the UE receives a periodic control message, the UE may perform signal quality measurements on both a multimedia broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) subframe and a non-MBSFN subframe of a frame received from the BS. When the UE receives an aperiodic control message, the UE may perform a signal quality measurement on either a MBSFN subframe or a non-MBSFN subframe. The UE may generate and transmit signal quality reports to the BS periodically and aperiodically corresponding to the received periodic and aperiodic control messages, respectively.

Channel state information (CSI) measurement and report for dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) in a wireless wide area network (WWAN)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a feedback error configuration indicating an error threshold associated with a feedback error type of a set of feedback error types, and a time window for feedback error detection per frequency band combination. The UE may detect one or multiple feedback errors for the feedback error type within the time window, and determine that a number of the one or multiple feedback errors for the feedback error type exceeds the error threshold. The UE may transmit a feedback error indication based on the determination that the number of the detected one or multiple feedback errors exceeds the error threshold. The feedback error indication may include an indication of the one or multiple feedback errors and the feedback error type associated with the one or multiple feedback errors.
