Provided is a system for detection and analysis of a fibrous root system architecture of a plant, including a plant pot having at least one slit area extending through a cross section in an axial direction, at least one laser measuring unit, and a data analyzing unit, where each laser measuring unit has a laser transmitter and a receiver disposed corresponding to the slit area in such a manner that a laser beam emitted from the laser transmitter to the receiver goes across the cross section of the plant pot; measurement on all roots in the slit area is realized by a rotating stage, and the laser measuring unit swinging horizontally around the laser transmitter within a predetermined angle range; and the data analyzing unit is configured to perform statistical analysis on the roots of a plant to be measured according to laser measuring results.

The at least one processing unit is configured to direct the x-ray source to emit different beams of the x-rays at different energy levels and to receive data from the detector assembly that are representative of detection of the x-rays emitted at the different energy levels. The at least one processing unit is also configured to direct the x-ray source to move the focal spot such that the focal spot is at different spot positions while the different beams are emitted.

The present disclosure discloses a method for reducing ringing artifacts in an X-ray image, comprising: acquiring an X-ray image by scanning an object, wherein the X-ray image comprises grid line artifacts; applying a first bandwidth filter and a second bandwidth filter respectively to the X-ray image so as to obtain a filtered first image and a filtered second image, wherein the first bandwidth filter and the second bandwidth have different bandwidths; constructing a weighting map according to the X-ray image; and fusing the filtered first image and the filtered second image with the weighting map so as to obtain an output image. The present disclosure also discloses a system using the above method.

A method for reducing grid line artifacts in an X-ray image is disclosed, which includes acquiring an X-ray image by scanning an object, wherein the X-ray image comprises grid line artifacts; decomposing the X-ray image into a high frequency image and a low frequency image, wherein the high frequency image comprises the grid line artifacts; filtering the high frequency image to reduce the grid line artifacts in the high frequency image so as to obtain a filtered high frequency image; and combining the filtered high frequency image with the low frequency image to reconstruct an output image. A system adopting the above method is also disclosed.

This invention relates to a method and device for calibrating the offset of an imaging system. The core idea of the invention is to place a reference object in the measurement chamber of the imaging system, measure the signals associated with the reference object at different points of time, calculate the merit function based on changes of the parameters representing the electromagnetic property of the reference object, and derive an optimal set of offset data that minimizes the value of the merit function for compensating the offset of the system in subsequent image reconstructions. In one embodiment, the invention uses a reference object comprising a non-conductive envelope and a cavity which can be filled with a conductive fluid and emptied, and in this way reduces the imaging interference caused by the reference object during monitoring.
