The semiconductor device includes a substrate, a first GaN field effect transistor, a second GaN field effect transistor, and a GaN diode. The first GaN field effect transistor is disposed on or above the substrate, and the first GaN field effect transistor is a depletion mode field effect transistor. The second GaN field effect transistor is disposed on or above the substrate, and the second GaN field effect transistor is an enhancement mode field effect transistor. The GaN diode is disposed on or above the substrate. The first GaN field effect transistor, the second GaN field effect transistor, and the GaN diode are disposed on or above a same side of the substrate and electrically connected to each other.

An aspect of the invention provides an electric curtain. The electric curtain includes a sunlight detector for obtaining light information of sunlight and a light modulation device capable of receiving the sunlight and for adjusting an emergent angle of the sunlight to refract the sunlight to a ceiling of a room.

The disclosure provides a light modulating module attached on a display side of a reflective display apparatus, including: a light source portion capable of providing an illumination light beam, wherein the illumination light beam is capable of being transmitted to the reflective display apparatus, and the reflective display apparatus is adapted to reflect the illumination light beam to generate an image light beam; and an image light modulating device is disposed above the reflective display apparatus and disposed in a light path of the image light beam, wherein the image light modulating device is capable of modulating a direction and/or a polarization state of the image light beam, and the image light beam is emitted to either a left or right eye of a viewer to form an autostereoscopic image perceivable to the viewer after the image light beam passes through the image light modulating device.

Light modulating module and image display

An aspect of the invention provides a display with an adjustable focus mechanism. The display with an adjustable focus mechanism includes a display panel for emitting a plurality of rays to form an image; a light modulation device for receiving the rays from the display panel and adjusting an emergent angle of each ray; and a controller for providing a control signal to drive the light modulation device by estimating the emergent angle of the each of the rays according to an eyesight data of a user and a distance between the user and the display.

Display with an adjustable focus mechanism

Disclosed is an image display apparatus, including a display device displaying right-eye images and left-eye images. A light-modulating device attached to the display device; and a temperature sensor monitoring the light-modulating device temperature. The light-modulating device deflects the right-eye and left-eye images to an observer's right and left eyes respectively without a temperature variation in the temperature sensor.

Electrically switchable light-modulating cell with via for image display apparatus

An embodiment of the invention provides a focus adjustable apparatus adapted to be disposed on a transparent substrate to modulate a plurality of rays passing through the transparent substrate. The focus adjustable apparatus includes a light modulation device, an eye tracking device, an eyesight status device and a controller. The light modulation device receives the rays from the transparent substrate and adjusts an emergent angle of each ray. The eye tracking device tracks a position of a user and estimates a distance between the user and the focus adjustable apparatus. The eyesight status device obtains an eyesight data of the user. The controller provides a control signal to drive the light modulation device by estimating the emergent angle of the each ray according to the distance between the user and the focus adjustable apparatus and the eyesight data of the user.

Focus adjustable apparatus

Disclosed is an image display system for multi-viewing, including a display device for displaying right-eye images and left-eye images. A system controller is electrically connected to the display device and a light modulating device. A motion sensor, in response to a control signal from the system controller, is utilized for determining the positions of the eyes of a viewer. A processor, in response to one or more image signals from the motion sensor, provides the system controller with the positions. The light modulating device is utilized for spatially or angularly deflecting the right-eye images to the right eye of the viewer and for spatially or angularly deflecting the left-eye images to the left eye of the viewer in accordance with the positions.

Image display system

A 3D image display system with high resolution is disclosed. The system may deflect left and right eye images to a left and right eye of a viewer, respectively. As such, the viewer can see 3D images. With a time-sharing mode, all of electronically switchable light modulating cells are configured to modulate all of the images deflected to the left eye of the viewer during a first period, and modulate all of the images to the right eye of the viewer during a second period, and the first period and the second period are alternate periods. Alternatively, a part of the electronically switchable light modulating cells are configured to modulate left eye images deflected to the left eye of the viewer, and another part of the electronically switchable light modulating cells are configured to modulate right eye images to the right eye of the viewer during the same period.

Light modulating cell, device and system

A 3D image display device with high resolution is disclosed. The device may deflect left and right eye images to a left and right eye of a viewer, respectively. As such, the viewer may see 3D images. The 3D image display device includes a plurality of electrically switchable light modulating cells containing two incompatible light modulating mediums. When a voltage is applied to electrodes of the electrically switchable light modulating cell, the interface between the incompatible light modulating mediums non-horizontally deforms corresponding to the electrowetting or electrostatic concept. The geometrical shape, size, and material of partition walls in the electrically switchable light modulating cells may reduce or eliminate misplacement of incompatible light modulating mediums while voltages are applied thereto. In addition, the method of manufacturing the 3D image display device is also disclosed.
