A system and method for application lifecycle management, including moving enterprise software application components, such as Oracle Fusion Application components, across different environments. In accordance with an embodiment, the task of moving the application components from a first/source environment to another second/target environment is simplified by movement tools, including a user interface for use by an administrator in moving component binaries and configuration information. The system can be used to minimize the amount of work that would otherwise be required to reapply customization and configuration changes that were made in the source environment, to the target environment. Various types of movement scenarios are also described.

System and method for moving enterprise software application components across environments

A search system receives business intelligence dimensions and at least one text search term. The system generates and displays key performance indicators based on the business intelligence dimensions, and generates and displays search results based on the text search term. The search results are restricted by facets, and the facets are derived from the business intelligence dimensions.

In an embodiment, a system for preserving user interface customizations while upgrading an enterprise application is provided. The system preserves customizations by identifying customizations made to user interface ('UI') objects of an enterprise application, and enabling these UI customizations to function with a newer version of the enterprise application. The system transforms UI customizations so that the transformed UI customizations function with a new UI model. By enabling a portion of an enterprise application to be upgraded while preserving UI customizations, the system dramatically reduces the time and cost incurred by companies when they upgrade enterprise software.
