The present invention discloses embodiments for an optical touch systems and methods. One embodiment of the present invention is directed to an optical touch system that includes at least two image sensors configured to detect a plurality of objects over a touch surface to generate a plurality of object images; a plurality of first light receiving elements, wherein the first light receiving elements are arranged on a side of the touch surface along a first direction and are configured to detect the objects; and a processing unit configured to calculate a plurality of candidate coordinate data, based on the object images, and select the coordinate data that represents coordinate data of the objects from the candidate coordinate data, based on detection data of the first light receiving elements.

Optical touch system and method having image sensors to detect objects over a touch surface

A detection system comprises a light source configured to illuminate an object, an image sensor configured to receive light reflected from the object, and a processor. The image sensor generates a first picture when the light source is turned on. The image sensor generates a second picture when the light source is turned off. The processor is configured to subtract the second picture from the first picture for determining an object image produced by the object.

Detection system

There is provided a click-event detection device including a light source, a light control unit, an image sensor and a processing unit. The light control unit is configured to control the light source to illuminate a finger. The image sensor receives reflected light from the finger to accordingly output a plurality of bright image frames and dark image frames. The processing unit is configured to calculate a differential image characteristic between the bright image frames and the dark image frames, to determine a plurality of operating states according to the differential image characteristic, to count a residence time at each of the operating states, and to identify a click-event according to the operating states and the residence time.

There is provided a human interface device including a control chip and a plurality of control components. The control chip includes a voltage detection circuit coupled to the plurality of control components via a multiplexing pin and detects a voltage value on the multiplexing pin through the voltage detection circuit thereby identifying an operating state of the plurality of control components.

An interactive pointing device capable of switching capture ranges includes an image capturing element and a processing unit. The image capturing element operates in a first capture range or a second capture range. The image capturing element is used for capturing a light source, and outputting an image signal. When a distance from the interactive pointing device to the light source is smaller than a reference value, the processing unit controls the image capturing element to detect the light source with the first capture range, and the processing unit converts the image signal into a first coordinate data. An electronic system incorporates an image-sensing device and a processor coupled with the image-sensing device.
