In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an electronic device is described. An example electronic device includes a charging dock to charge a wireless peripheral device and a sensor to determine when the wireless peripheral device is decoupled from the charging dock. A wireless communication device of the example electronic device wirelessly communicates with the wireless peripheral device. A controller of the example electronic device, responsive to an output from the sensor indicating that the wireless peripheral device is decoupled from the charging dock, triggers the wireless communication device to pair with the wireless peripheral device.

Wireless peripheral docks and sensors

The present specification describes examples of position-based switching of display devices. An example augmented reality (AR) device includes an AR display device to render display data. The example AR device also includes a wireless communication device to transmit and receive wireless signals. The example AR device further includes a processor to: 1) determine a position of the AR device relative to a computing device based on wireless signals communicated with the computing device; and 2) switch an activity state of the AR display device based on the determined position of the AR device relative to the computing device.

In example implementations, a head mounted display (HMD) is provided. The HMD includes a first wireless radio, a second wireless radio, and a controller. The first wireless radio is to establish a connection to a host computer. The second wireless radio is to connect to a second HMD via a channel. The controller is communicatively coupled to the first wireless radio and the second wireless radio. The controller is to receive a notification of a presence of the second HMD from the host computer via the connection, track movement of the second HMD via the channel, and generate a collision avoidance alert when the second HMD is within a distance threshold of the HMD.

In an example, a wearable apparatus may include a display device and an input device. The input device may include a network interface device having a first transceiver and a second transceiver. Further, the input device may include a processor connected to the network interface device to communicate with the display device via the first transceiver. Furthermore, the processor may monitor a position of a peer input device via the second transceiver based on a radio signal exchanged between the input device and the peer input device. In response to a determination that the position of the peer input device is less than a threshold distance, the processor may generate a collision alert on the display device via the first transceiver.

Example implementations relate to dynamic wireless network selection. In some examples, a computing device may comprise a processing resource and a memory resource storing machine-readable instructions to determine a computing device is executing a number of applications, classify the number of applications, prioritize the number of applications based on the classification of the number of applications, determine at least one test from a plurality of tests to send to a network based on the prioritization of the applications, perform the at least one test from the plurality of tests, and determine a network adapter of the network to be used by the device based on the at least one test performed.

Dynamic wireless network selections

In one example, a communication device is disclosed, which includes a tunable circuit coupled to an antenna, a modem, and a control unit. The modem may poll a plurality of channels. Each channel is associated with a frequency band. Further, the modem may record a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) value associated with each of the plurality of channels. Furthermore, the control unit may determine a first channel having a highest RSSI value from the plurality of channels and control the tunable circuit to tune the antenna based on a frequency of the first channel.

An antenna for an electronic device is described. The antenna includes an antenna disposed in a first location and a signal conductor disposed in a second location. The antenna and the signal conductor are electrically coupled across an air gap.

The present subject matter relates to wireless VR devices. In an example implementation of the present subject matter, wireless VR devices are described. In an example, a wireless VR device includes a first array antenna disposed on a headband of the wireless VR device to communicate wirelessly. The wireless VR device also includes a second array antenna disposed on a display unit of the wireless VR device to wirelessly communicate with the docking station. In an example implementation, the first array antenna and the second array antenna have an omni-directional radiation pattern.

Device antennas

Examples relating to an antenna for a communication device are described. In one example, the antenna may include a longitudinally extending base strip, and a radiating strip. The radiating strip extends longitudinally with respect to the base strip. The antenna may further include a coupling strip which provides a conducting path between the base strip and the radiating strip. The radiating strip is such that its length is greater than length of the base strip.

Antenna for a communication device

A system and method are disclosed in which smart routing of a signal from a Wi-Fi device to an Access Point (AP) is performed by consulting a dynamic mesh network of measured path information between entities in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). The WLAN consists of at least two possible paths between the Wi-Fi device and the AP, and each path may include one or more sub-paths. The measured path information consists of Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) and Quality Indication (QI) measurements. The dynamic mesh network is generated by APs performing beamforming operations with other APs in the WLAN and obtaining distinct RSSI and QI for each measured path. The measured RSSI and QI of each path, for both the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands, is added to the mesh network. Wi-Fi devices entering the WLAN consult the mesh network to determine the optimum connectivity path to the AP, thus avoiding routing through an unnecessary number of additional APs as well as APs with an already heavy payload.

In one example, a communication device is disclosed, which includes a metal casing, an antenna, a tunable capacitor connected between the antenna and the metal casing, and a control unit. The control unit may determine proximity of a user to the communication device. Further, the control unit may adjust the tunable capacitor to control radiation pattern of the antenna based on the determined proximity.

In one example, a communication device is described, which includes at least one antenna and a wireless communication module communicatively coupled to the at least one antenna. The wireless communication module may include a processing unit to search another device within a signal range via the at least one antenna and establish a short-range wireless communication with the other device via a first radio frequency (RF) channel associated with a frequency band. Further, the processing unit may establish a long-range wireless communication with the other device via at least one second RF channel associated with the frequency band to transmit and receive data to and from the other device.

In an example, a computing device includes a microphone array, a first antenna, a second antenna, and a processor. The microphone array includes a first microphone and a second microphone that collectively produce a beam to collect an audio sample from an audio source. The first antenna and the second antenna are positioned in proximity to the microphone array and collectively produce a field of microwave radiation. The processor tracks a position of the audio source relative to the computing device using microwave image processing and steers a direction of the beam in response to the position of the audio source.
