An electric motor communication system for use with a fluid moving system and using at least one wireless sensor network is provided. The electric motor communication system includes an electric motor that includes a motor management device configured to transmit and receive input signals via the wireless sensor network, and a processing device coupled to said motor management device and configured to control said electric motor based at least in part on input signals received at said motor management device. The electric motor communication system also includes at least one external device configured to collect data and to transmit said input signals, via the wireless sensor network, to said electric motor.

Systems and methods for wirelessly communicating within electric motor systems

A motor controller having low standby power consumption is provided. The motor controller includes a direct current (DC) bus. The motor controller also includes a low-power supply. The motor controller also includes an inverter configured to control a supply of current to stator windings of a motor. The motor controller also includes a switch circuit coupled between the DC bus and the low-power supply. The motor controller also includes a switch controller coupled to the switch circuit and configured to be coupled to a system controller. The switch controller is configured to control the switch circuit to electrically decouple, in response to detecting an absence of a control signal from the system controller, the DC bus from the low-power supply.

The system includes a power supply module including a printed circuit board (PCB) and a plurality of power processing components configured to convert an input voltage into an output voltage. The motor controller includes a high-frequency (HF) inverter having a direct current (DC) input stage and an alternating current (AC) output stage, the HF inverter operable at a switching frequency to generate a three-phase output having a fundamental frequency. The motor controller also includes a differential mode (DM) filter coupled in series with the output stage of the HF inverter and having a resonant frequency less than 10% of the switching frequency, the DM filter configured to reduce harmonic components of the three-phase output and generate a first filtered output. The motor controller further includes a common mode (CM) filter coupled in series with the DM filter, the CM filter configured to filter the first filtered output to generate a second filtered output having a reduced CM voltage to operate the electric motor with a reduced bearing current.

An electric motor controller, an electric motor drive circuit, and methods for combined electric motor control are provided. The drive circuit is configured to drive a first electric motor and a second electric motor. The drive circuit includes a rectifier configured to convert an AC input voltage to a pulsed DC voltage, and a first DC link electrically coupled to the rectifier. The first DC-link includes a low-capacitance capacitor having a capacitance less than 10 &#x3bc;F. The drive circuit also includes a first inverter coupled to the first DC-link, the first inverter configured to generate a conditioned output voltage to drive the first electric motor, a second DC-link electrically coupled to the first DC-link, and a second inverter coupled to the second DC-link. The second inverter is configured to generate a conditioned output voltage to drive the second electric motor.

A motor controller for controlling an electric motor includes a motion control microcontroller unit (MCU) for storing initial control parameters for the electric motor, and a wireless receiver communicatively coupled to the motion control MCU. The wireless receiver is configured to activate in response to initiation of a wireless connection with a remote device, receive a wireless control signal from the remote device, the wireless control signal including updated control parameters, and transmit the updated control parameters to the motion control MCU. The motor controller also includes an energy management system configured to power the wireless receiver and the motion control MCU.

The EMI filter also includes a first choke device coupled across the first and second conductive paths, and a first Y capacitor including a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end coupled to the first conductive path downstream from the first choke device. The EMI filter further includes a second Y capacitor including a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end coupled to the second conductive path downstream from the first choke device, and a second choke device coupled to an inverter output.

A motor controller for controlling an electric motor includes at least one integrated sensor disposed on the electric motor. The least one integrated sensor is configured to collect sensor data associated with a status of the electric motor for a period of time, the period of time beginning at an activation time and extending at least until an installation time. The motor controller may include an energy management system configured to power the at least one integrated sensor for at least a portion of the period of time, and a memory device configured to store the sensor data. The motor controller may include a data management system configured to communicate the sensor data from the at least one integrated sensor to at least one of the memory device and a remote device.

An interleaved bridgeless power factor correction (PFC) converter-based motor drive system is provided. The system includes a first inductor coupled to a second inductor. The coupled first and second inductors are coupled to a first input configured to be coupled to a first line of an alternating current (AC) power supply. The coupled third and fourth inductors are coupled to a second input configured to be coupled to a second line of the AC power supply. The system further includes a digital active power factor correction (PFC) controller configured to cause current in at least one of the coupled first and second inductors and the coupled third and fourth inductors to be interleaved.

System and method for controlling a motor

Protection of an electric motor drive controller from a transient voltage is described herein. The transient voltage is provided by an alternating current (AC) power line that includes a line conductor, a neutral conductor, and a ground conductor. The transient voltage protection system includes a first stage protection device coupled to an input of a rectifier of the motor drive controller. The first stage protection device is configured to suppress the transient voltage to prevent damage to the motor drive controller. The transient voltage protection system also includes a second stage protection device coupled between the rectifier and an inverter of the motor drive controller. The second stage protection device is configured to further suppress the transient voltage to prevent damage to the inverter.
