A liquid crystal display (LCD) has a pixel matrix, a plurality of shift registers, a plurality of common voltage generators, a plurality of common voltage buffers, and a plurality of primary bidirectional switch circuits. The shift registers sequentially output gate signals to scan lines of the pixel matrix. The common voltage generators output initial common voltages according to the gate signals. The common voltage buffers are configured to buffer the initial common voltages to output a plurality of common voltages to a plurality of common voltage lines of the pixel matrix. Each of the primary bidirectional switch circuits is configured to control electrical connection between two of the common voltage lines according to one or more gate signals outputted from at least one of the shift registers.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display panel and a display driving method are disclosed. The liquid crystal display panel includes several pixel units, several scan lines, several common electrode lines coupled with the pixel units and several common electrode control units. The common electrode control units are configured for controlling the voltage levels of the common electrode lines. Each one of the common electrode control units generates a first output signal and a second output signal opposite to the first output signal according to the former common electrode controlling unit and two adjacent scan lines. The common electrode controlling unit controls a voltage level on one of the common electrode lines according to the first output signal, and outputs the first output signal and the opposite second output signal to the next common electrode control unit.

Liquid crystal display panel and display driving method

A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel is provided. A photo-alignment layer and a patterned pixel electrode are formed on a first and a second substrates respectively. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the photo-alignment layer and the patterned pixel electrode. The patterned pixel electrode includes intersected electrodes having a first directional portion and a second directional portion intersected therewith, and stripe electrodes having slits therebetween connect at least one of the first directional portion and the second directional portion. When an electric field between the first and the second substrates is substantially zero, the liquid crystal molecules near the photo-alignment layer have a pre-tilt angle while those on another side are substantially perpendicular to the second substrate. As the liquid crystal layer is driven, the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer are substantially arranged along an extending direction of the slits.

Liquid crystal display panel including patterned pixel electrodes having micro slits, electronic apparatus and manufacturing method thereof

A liquid crystal panel including a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, a counter electrode, a pixel array structure, at least one alignment layer and at least one polymer layer is provided. The counter electrode is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the first substrate. The pixel array structure is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the second substrate. The alignment layer is disposed between the counter electrode and the liquid crystal layer and between the pixel array structure and the liquid crystal layer. The polymer layer is disposed between the alignment layer and the liquid crystal layer, and a material of the polymer layer includes polymer monomers and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). A content of PMMA in the polymer layer is greater than 1 ppm and smaller than 15000 ppm.

Liquid crystal panel and liquid crystal mixture

A method of forming a display panel includes providing a first substrate having a transparent electrode, and a second substrate having a pixel electrode. Subsequently, an alignment material is provided and covers on the transparent electrode and/or the pixel electrode, and a photoelectric twisting layer is provided between the first substrate and the second substrate. The alignment material is first in a non-aligned state, and is radiation-polymerizable. The photoelectric twisting layer does not include any radiation-polymerizable material. Thereafter, a voltage difference is applied to drive molecules of the photoelectric twisting layer, and a radiating process is performed on the alignment material. The twisted molecules of the photoelectric twisting layer induce the surface molecules of the alignment material to arrange in an ordered state, and the alignment material is polymerized according to the ordered state as a first alignment film.

Method of forming a display panel

A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel is provided. A photo-alignment layer is formed on a first substrate. Patterned pixel electrodes including intersected electrodes and stripe electrodes are formed on a second substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the photo-alignment layer and the patterned pixel electrodes. Each intersected electrode has a first directional portion and a second directional portion interlacing thereto. The stripe electrodes with silts connect the first and/or the second directional portions. When an electric field between the first and the second substrates is substantially zero, liquid crystal molecules near the photo-alignment layer are arranged at a pre-tilt angle, while those disposed at another side near the second substrate are substantially perpendicular to the second substrate. As the liquid crystal layer is driven, the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer are substantially arranged along an extending direction of the slits.

Liquid crystal display panel having photo-alignment film and patterned pixel electrodes with micro slits disposed therein, electronic apparatus, and manufacturing method thereof

An optically compensated birefringence liquid crystal alignment agent. The liquid crystal alignment agent includes one or more polymerizable monomers polymerized to form a polymer having liquid crystal alignment memory on an alignment layer by irradiating an energy ray. Liquid crystals are rapidly converted from splay state to bend state along the polymer memory direction so that a liquid crystal display reaches steady state immediately by only applying normal voltage, without application of high voltage. The invention also provides a liquid crystal display including the liquid crystal alignment agent and a method for fabricating the liquid crystal display.
