Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for transmission of sidelink reference signals and sidelink data in a wireless communication system, wherein a method of a first device comprises receiving a first configuration of a first sidelink resource pool shared for sidelink data transmission and sidelink reference signal, receiving a second configuration of a first parameter of a maximum number of sidelink data transmissions in the first sidelink resource pool, selecting a first number for sidelink data retransmissions and also for sidelink reference signal transmissions based on the first parameter, selecting one or more first sidelink resources, in the first sidelink resource pool, according to at least the first number, and performing at least a first sidelink data retransmission for a sidelink data packet and a first sidelink reference signal transmission on a first sidelink resource of the one or more first sidelink resources.

Method and apparatus for determination of maximum allowed transmission number for sidelink reference signal and sidelink data in a wireless communication system

A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first device. In one embodiment, the method includes the first device performs sensing on a data resource pool, and the first device selects/derives at least a first data resource from the data resource pool based on the sensing result of the data resource pool. The method further includes the first device transmits a first control information on a first control resource, wherein the first control information allocates or indicates the first data resource. The method also includes the first device performs a first data transmission on the first data resource to at least one second device. A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first device to perform sidelink communication. In one embodiment, the first device has a periodic sidelink resource reservation, wherein the periodic sidelink resource reservation comprises, reserves, or provides one set of sidelink resources in one period. The first device also has one or more sidelink logical channels with available sidelink data, wherein the one or more sidelink logical channels are associated with one or more destinations. Furthermore, the first device selects or determines a first destination, among the one or more destinations, satisfying at least a condition that an initial sidelink resource of the one set of sidelink resources is within sidelink active time associated with the first destination. In addition, the first device generates a first data packet for the first destination. Also, the first device performs one or more sidelink transmissions on the one set of sidelink resources to the first destination, wherein the one or more sidelink transmissions includes, delivers, or comprises the first data packet.

Method and apparatus of handling periodic sidelink resources and discontinuous reception for sidelink communication in a wireless communication system

A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first device to perform sidelink communication. In one embodiment, the method includes the first device performing sidelink resource selection or reselection procedure for a sidelink transmission to a second device, wherein the sidelink resource selection or reselection procedure is performed to select at least one sidelink resource from candidate sidelink resources within a time duration of selection window. A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first device to perform sidelink communication. In one embodiment, the first device sends or reports a resource set to a second device, wherein the resource set comprises one or more sidelink resources in one or more slots in a carrier or cell. The UE transmits, to the second UE, the first sidelink transmission in the COT. The first sidelink transmission includes the information. Method and apparatus for listen before talk for sidelink transmission in a wireless communication system

A method and apparatus are disclosed for a device to perform sidelink communication. The device triggers or requests to perform partial sensing-based resource selection in a first Transmission Time Interval (TTI) in a sidelink resource pool. The device also derives or determines a set of candidate TTIs within a resource selection window in response to the trigger or request, wherein sidelink resources in the set of candidate TTIs are candidate sidelink resources. Furthermore, when the device does not perform sensing in a second TTI, the device excludes a number of candidate sidelink resources, from the candidate sidelink resources, associated with the second TTI, wherein the second TTI is after the first TTI and before the first candidate TTI of the set of candidate TTIs. The device further derives or determines a set of sidelink resources, from the candidate sidelink resources at least excluding the number of candidate sidelink resources.

In an example, a device receives a configuration of a sidelink resource pool for sidelink data transmission and sidelink reference signal transmission. The device determines to perform a sidelink reference signal transmission in a first Transmission Time Interval (TTI) of the sidelink resource pool, wherein the sidelink reference signal transmission is associated with a destination identity (ID) and a source ID, and the sidelink reference signal transmission has a highest priority among one or more pending sidelink reference signals and one or more sidelink logical channels with pending sidelink data. A method for a UE comprises performing a SL communication associated with a destination Identity (ID), having a SL DRX configuration associated with the SL communication, wherein the SL DRX configuration comprises at least an on-duration timer and a DRX cycle, deriving a first offset associated with the SL communication based on the destination ID and the DRX cycle, deriving a second offset associated with the SL communication based on the destination ID and a number of slots per subframe, starting the on-duration timer after a time period determined based on the second offset from the beginning of a subframe, wherein the subframe is determined based on at least the first offset, and monitoring Sidelink Control Information (SCI) when the on-duration timer is running.

Methods and apparatuses for handling device-to-device feedback transmission in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a first device receives a configuration for operating in a network scheduling mode for acquiring sidelink resources. The first device receives a sidelink control information with a report request from a second device. The first device triggers or is triggered to transmit a report to the second device in response to the report request. If the first device has no available sidelink resource for transmitting the report, the first device triggers a scheduling request. The first device transmits a signaling of the scheduling request to the network. The first device receives a sidelink grant from the network. The first device utilizes sidelink resource(s) indicated by the sidelink grant to transmit the report to the second device.
