The invention provides lubricant compositions for diesel engines having a regenerative DPF, which prolong life of the DPF by inhibiting accumulation of components depositable on DPF inner walls, diesel engine systems having a regenerative DPF with prolonged life, and a method for inhibiting accumulation of components depositing on the DPF in the system. The present composition is for diesel engines having a regenerative DPF and running on diesel fuel with &#x3c;10 mass ppm sulfur, contains a base oil and additives including (A) metal detergent, (B) ashless dispersant, and (C) phosphorus-based anti-wear agent, and satisfies the conditions of a sulfated ash content of 0.4-2 mass %, an atomic ratio of metal from component (A) to the total phosphorus of 0.2-3, an atomic ratio of the total boron to metal from component (A) of 0.2-2, and an atomic ratio of the total sulfur to metal from component (A) of 0-4.

Lubricating oil composition for diesel engine

An engine oil composition characterized by containing a major amount of lubricating base oil and (a) 0.01 to 30% by weight of an overbasic oil-soluble metal salt prepared by use of an alkaline-earth metal borate, (b) 0.01 to 5% by weight of a molybdenum dithiocarbamate, and (c) 0.01 to 5% by weight of an antioxidant as essential components, on the basis of the total amount of the composition.

A lubricating oil composition for two-stroke cycle cylinder injection engines contains as essential ingredients: (A): a base oil containing (1) 10-30% by mass of polybutene with number-average molecular weight 250-350 on the basis of a total amount of the base oil, (2) 30-60% by mass of polybutene with number-average molecular weight 450-550 on the basis of the total amount of the base oil, and (3) 15-40% by mass of mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil, which is other than polybutene, with kinematic viscosity 2-35 mm.sup.2 /s at 100.degree. C., on the basis of the total amount of the base oil; and (B): 2-15 parts by mass of alkylaminophenol having an alkyl group with 8-400 carbon atoms relative to 100 parts by mass of the base oil.

Lubricating oil composition for use in two-stroke cycle cylinder

A method of making a novel lubricant additive comprising a boric acid modified aminoamide compound is disclosed. A lubricating oil composition incorporating the modified aminoamide compound is also disclosed, which exhibits enhanced high-temperature cleanliness when used particularly for two stroke cycle engines.
