A measurement portion includes a containment unit including a plurality of containers containing a liquid, a dispensing unit including a dispensing probe for dispensing the liquid, and a gauging portion for gauging the liquid dispensed by the dispensing unit. An excessive immersion determination portion determines whether an immersion of the dispensing probe is excessive immersion that exceeds a predetermined range. An input portion can select and set an operation of the measurement portion to be performed after the excessive immersion determination portion determines that the immersion is excessive immersion from a plurality of modes. A measurement control portion controls the measurement portion depending on a mode set by the input portion.

Automatic analysis apparatus

Described is an automated analyzer capable of effectively cleaning a dispensing probe without using a sweeping cleaning member. The automated analyzer includes: a receptacle holding portion for holding a plurality of receptacles in which aliquots of liquid are stored, an immersion cleaning solution holding portion for storing an immersion cleaning solution, an aliquot dispenser equipped with a drive mechanism for holding a dispensing probe operative to collect the aliquots of liquid from the receptacles, a measurement controller for controlling the drive mechanism and the dispensing probe such that the aliquots of liquid are successively collected at given cycles from the receptacles, and an immersion cleaning controller for controlling the drive mechanism and the dispensing probe such that an immersion cleaning operation is carried out for an immersion time that is at least twice as long as the period of each of the given cycles.

Apparatus and method for automated analysis

There is provided an automated analyzer which has plural liquid tanks connected with a dispensing probe and which can efficiently switch the operative liquid tank according to measurement item. The automated analyzer includes a liquid dispenser having a dispensing probe and a pump capable of aspirating and dispensing a liquid from and into an open end of the probe, the liquid dispenser being operative to cause the liquid aspirated in the probe and a probe internal liquid to be dispensed into aliquot receptacles. The automated analyzer also includes; an internal liquid supply device having plural liquid tanks in which probe internal liquids corresponding to measurement items are stored, the supply device being operative to supply a probe internal liquid into the dispensing probe from one of the tanks. The automated analyzer further includes an input section and an operation controller.
