The present invention relates to a vehicle control device provided in a vehicle and a method of controlling the vehicle. A vehicle control device according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a communication unit configured to perform communication with a shoe, a sensing unit configured to sense information related to the vehicle and a position of the shoe, and a processor configured to control the communication unit such that the shoe outputs an alarm based on a situation in which the vehicle is to be accelerated or decelerated and the position of the shoe when the situation is detected through the sensing unit.

A vehicle control device that includes a communication unit that is configured to (i) communicate with a mobile device and (ii) receive data including user input that is received at the mobile device; and a processor that is configured to: based on receipt of the data including the user input, determine whether a vehicle with which the mobile device is associated operates in a manual driving mode or an autonomous driving mode and whether the user input received at the mobile device satisfies a preset condition; and based on determinations that the vehicle is in the manual driving mode and that the user input received at the mobile device satisfies the preset condition, switch the vehicle from the manual driving mode to the autonomous driving mode is disclosed.

The present disclosure relates to a vehicle control apparatus and a control method thereof, and the vehicle control apparatus may include a body portion comprising an outer frame constituting an external appearance of a vehicle and an inner frame formed to allow a user to get on, a sensing unit configured to sense a user's input from at least one sensing region formed on the body portion, and a controller configured to drive at least one of functions that can be executed in the vehicle based on at least one of a location of the sensing region at which the user's input is sensed and the user's input to the sensing region.
