A display apparatus includes, a first pattern included in a first layer, a second pattern included in a second layer, a first test pattern including a plurality of first lines extending in a first direction and having a first width, and being spaced apart from each other, a second test pattern included in the second layer, including a central line and a plurality of second lines connected to the central line, wherein the plurality of second lines extend in the first direction have a second width, and are spaced apart from each other, and wherein at least one of the second lines is electrically connected to the first lines, and a shift tester configured to apply a test voltage to the central line to determine a degree by which the second pattern is shifted with respect to the first pattern by measuring the voltages at the first lines.

Display apparatus, method of driving the same and method of manufacturing the same

A display panel is divided into multiple areas respectively driven by multiple drivers, and the multiple areas are adjacent to each other along a first direction. An object moves along the first direction between a first frame and a second frame and is displayed on the display panel. The moving speed of the object is compared with a reference speed. A main compensation frame is added between the first frame and the second frame. A first high speed compensation frame is added between the first frame and the main compensation frame when the moving speed is higher than or equal to the reference speed. A first low speed compensation frame is added between the first frame and the main compensation frame when the moving speed is lower than the reference speed, and the first low speed compensation frame is different from the first high speed compensation frame.

A method of driving a display panel is provided. The display panel includes first through n-th gate lines and a plurality of pixels each connected to one of the first through n-th gate lines (where n is a natural number). The method includes charging pixels connected to the n-th gate line with first data voltages corresponding to a first frame image during a first period, charging pixels connected to the first gate line with the first data voltages during the first period, charging the pixels connected to the first gate line with second data voltages corresponding to a second frame image during a second period subsequent to the first period, and charging pixels connected to the second gate line with the second data voltages during the second period.

A method of driving a display panel includes respectively outputting first to j-th, where j is a natural number, gate signals to first to j-th gate lines disposed on a first area of the display panel during a load period when an image is displayed on the display panel due to an output of a data signal to the display panel, adjusting a blank gate voltage during a blank period between load periods to generate an adjusted blank gate voltage, generating a blank gate signal based on the adjusted blank gate voltage, and outputting the blank gate signal. Thus, display quality of a display apparatus may be improved.

A display device and a driving method thereof are disclosed. In one aspect, the display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a data driver transferring data voltages to a plurality of data lines, and a gate driver transferring gate signals to a plurality of gate lines. The display device also includes a signal controller controlling the data driver and the gate driver and including a signal processor. The signal processor includes a memory and a coupling index calculator calculating a coupling index which represents a coupling degree between adjacent rows. The signal processor compensates for the input image signal to generate a compensated image signal based at least in part on the coupling index.

Display device and driving method thereof

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel including a plurality of display blocks; a driving circuit configured to control an image to be displayed on the display panel; and a timing controller configured to control the driving circuit in response to an image signal and a control signal and to provide a data signal to the driving circuit, wherein the timing controller comprises a memory storing gamma correction values corresponding to gray scales of the image signal, and wherein the timing controller outputs the data signal, and the data signal is obtained by correcting the image signal using the gamma correction values.

The data processor is configured to detect a first region including a moving in a first image signal, to apply a first dynamic capacitance control (DCC) to the first region, to apply a second DCC to a second region other than the moving pattern region, to generate the second image signal by combining the first region to which the first DCC is applied and the second region to which the second DCC is applied, and to transfer the second image signal to the signal controller.
