A display device includes a display unit including a plurality of pixels coupled to a plurality of data lines, a plurality of scan lines, and a plurality of emission control lines, a controller for determining a width of a gate-off section of an emission control signal, which corresponds to a non-emission section of each of a plurality of frames belonging to a dimming period, in response to a dimming signal, and an emission driver for supplying the emission control signal in units of a plurality of consecutive pixel rows through the plurality of emission control lines.

Display device and method for driving the same

A display device includes: a pixel including a first transistor connected between a first node and a second node to generate a driving current; an emission driver supplying an emission control signal; a scan driver supplying first to fourth scan signals in a period in which the emission control signal is supplied; a data drive supplying a data signal; a power supply supplying a voltage of a first power source; and a timing controller controlling driving of the scan driver, the emission driver, the data driver, and the power supply The first scan signal controls a timing at which the voltage of the first power source is supplied to the first node or the second node. The power supply changes a level of the voltage of the first power source in one frame period.

Pixel and display device having the same

A display device includes a pixel including a first transistor coupled between a first node and a second node, an emission driver supplying an emission control signal at a first frequency to an emission control line, a scan driver supplying first to fourth scan signals respectively to first to fourth scan lines, a data driver supplying a data signal to a data line, and a timing controller. The first scan signal controls a timing at which a voltage of a first power source is supplied to the first node or the second node, and the second scan signal controls a timing at which a first electrode of the first transistor and a gate electrode of the first transistor are coupled to each other. The display driver includes a storage unit configured to store gamma data and a duty value for each of a plurality of sample brightness levels including a K-th sample brightness level, and a brightness controller, the display driver being configured to control the brightness of the display area according to the gamma data or the duty value or gamma data obtained by non-linearly interpolating gamma data of a (K&#x2212;1)-th sample brightness level and the K-th sample brightness level, with respect to a tuning point brightness level. A light emission time of the pixels corresponding to the (K&#x2212;1)-th sample brightness level is less than or equal to 10% shorter than the light emission time of the pixels corresponding to the K-th sample brightness level.

Display device and method of controlling brightness of the same based on sample brightness levels

The present disclosure relates to a display apparatus enhancing a display quality and a method of driving the display apparatus. The display apparatus comprises a display panel and a power voltage generator. The display panel comprises a plurality of pixels. The power voltage generator is configured to output a first initialization voltage, a second initialization voltage, a first power voltage, and a second power voltage less than the first power voltage to the plurality of pixels. The power voltage generator is configured to output the second initialization voltage substantially equal to the second power voltage in response to an emergency shutdown signal.
