A display apparatus includes a gate line, a data line crossing the gate line and a pixel area. A common electrode and a pixel electrode are overlapped with each other and formed in the pixel area. The common electrode and the pixel electrode receive different voltages. The data line includes a first data line through which a voltage is applied to the common electrode and a second data line through which a voltage is applied to the pixel electrode. The first data line crosses the pixel area to minimize an area where the first data line is formed, thereby improving an aperture ratio of the display apparatus.

Display apparatus with data line and common line formed in a same layer

A driver chip for controlling a high-resolution display panel is presented. The driver chip is not much larger than a conventional driver chip that is currently used for lower resolution display panels. The driver chip applies data signals to the data lines of the display panel and gate control signals to a gate driver that is formed in the peripheral region of the display panel. The gate driver, which may be made of amorphous silicon TFTs, generates gate signals in response to the gate control signals from the driver chip and applies the gate signals to gate lines. Since the driver chip of the invention controls more gate lines and data lines than a conventional chip of about the same size, the driver chip may be easily adapted for display devices having multiple panels. Where multiple panels are used, the panels may be scanned simultaneously or sequentially.

Driver for operating multiple display devices

A display panel includes a first substrate having a pixel thin film transistor thereon and a second substrate opposing the first substrate. The first substrate further includes a first insulation substrate having a display region in which the pixel thin film transistor is formed and a non-display region that encloses the display region, gate lines formed in the display region and electrically connected to the pixel thin film transistor, a driving part, including a driving thin film transistor, located in the non-display region and driving the pixel thin film transistor, and a dummy semiconductor layer formed in a peripheral area of the driving part.

Display panel

An array substrate includes a gate line, a data line, a thin-film transistor (TFT), a pixel electrode, a first sensor line, a second sensor line and a sensor electrode part. The TFT is electrically connected to the gate and data lines. The pixel electrode is formed in a unit area defined by the gate and data lines. The pixel electrode is electrically connected to the TFT. The first sensor line is substantially parallel with the gate line. The second sensor line is substantially parallel with the data line. The sensor electrode part is formed in the unit area and electrically connected to the first and second sensor lines. The sensor electrode part is adjacent to the pixel electrode in a large axis direction of the unit area.

Array substrate and display panel having the same with particular sensor electrodes

A liquid crystal display (LCD) apparatus having a delta-type pixel structure, comprises a thin-film transistor (TFT) substrate, a color filter substrate and a liquid crystal layer. Electrodes on the TFT substrate are configured to block light leakage at boundaries between color filters. Light leakage at the color filter boundaries is blocked without having a black matrix on the color filter substrate.
