The present disclosure relates to a liquid crystal display device and a fabricating method thereof. The liquid crystal display device includes: first and second substrates bonded to each other; gate lines aligned on the first substrate; a data line and a common line on the first substrate; a large pixel electrode disposed at the intersecting point between the lines; a TFT at the intersecting point between the gate line and the data line; a protrusion pattern on the gate line; a passivation layer on the first substrate; branched common electrodes on the passivation layer; a pixel electrode connection pattern on the passivation layer; a black matrix and color filter layer on the second substrate; a column spacer on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer at between the substrates.

Liquid crystal display device and method for fabricating the same

An array substrate for a narrow bezel type liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same are provided. The array substrate includes: gate lines (GLs) on a substrate, the substrate including a display area and first to fourth non-display areas at respective sides, pixel regions, a gate insulating layer (GIL) on the GLs, a plurality of data lines on the GIL and crossing the GLs, a plurality of gate auxiliary lines parallel to the data lines and connected to respective GLs, an auxiliary line in the third non-display area with a first layer under the GIL and a second layer on the GIL, the first layer contacting the second layer through a first auxiliary contact hole in the GIL, a thin film transistor in each pixel region and connected to the GLs and data lines, and a pixel electrode connected to each thin film transistor.

Array substrate for narrow bezel type liquid crystal display device and method of manufacturing the same

An array substrate for a field switching mode liquid crystal display device and a fabrication method thereof are provided. The array substrate for an FFS mode LCD device includes: a plurality of gate lines formed on the substrate; a plurality of data lines arranged to cross the gate lines; a common line formed at the subpixel regions of the substrate; an auxiliary common line formed on the common line; TFTs formed at crossings of the gate lines and the data lines; a protective film formed on the substrate; and a pixel electrode and a common electrode formed on the protective film and connected with the TFTs and the auxiliary common line, respectively.

Method for fabricating array substrate for FFS mode liquid crystal display device

A method for fabricating an in-plane switching (IPS) type liquid crystal display (LCD) device according to an embodiment includes forming gate lines arranged in a first direction and data lines arranged in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, the gate lines and the data lines defining pixel regions on an array substrate; forming a storage electrode on the array substrate; forming common electrodes extending across each pixel region; forming pixel electrodes arranged to be substantially parallel to the common electrodes, the common electrodes and the pixel electrodes being alternately arranged to generate an in-plane field in each pixel region; and forming thin film transistors (TFTs) at intersection areas of the gate lines and the data lines, each TFT including a source electrode connected to the corresponding data line, a drain electrode connected to the corresponding pixel electrode and a gate electrode.

An array for an in-plane switching (IPS) mode liquid crystal display device includes a gate line formed on a substrate to extend in a first direction, a common line formed on the substrate to extend in the first direction, a data line formed to extend in a second direction, a thin film transistor formed at an intersection between the gate line and the data line, wherein the thin film transistor includes a gate line, a gate insulating layer, an active layer, a source electrode, and a drain electrode, a passivation film formed on the substrate including the thin film transistor, a pixel electrode formed on the passivation film located on a pixel region defined by the gate line and the data line, the pixel electrode being electrically connected to the drain electrode, a common electrode formed on the passivation film, and a common electrode connection line connected to the common electrode and the common line, wherein the common electrode connection line overlaps with the common line and the drain electrode.

Array substrate for in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device and fabricating method thereof

A thin film transistor substrate and a method for fabricating the same are discussed. According to an embodiment, the thin film transistor substrate includes a gate line arranged on a substrate in a first direction; a data line arranged in a second direction crossing the gate line to define adjacent first and second pixel regions, the data line being used in common by the first and second pixel regions; an entire common line arranged in the second direction substantially parallel with the data line; a thin film transistor including a gate electrode connected with the gate line, a source electrode connected with the data line, a drain electrode formed to face the source electrode, and an active layer formed to be overlapped with the gate electrode by interposing a gate insulating film between the active layer and the gate electrode; and a pixel electrode connected with the drain electrode.

Thin film transistor substrate and method for fabricating the same

Array substrates for liquid crystal display (LCD) devices are formed on a substrate with first and second gate lines crossing a data line to define first and second pixel regions. A thin film transistor includes a source electrode and a drain electrode. A metal pattern overlaps a common line and makes up a portion of the drain electrode. A passivation layer is disposed on the source and drain electrodes and on the metal pattern. A first pixel electrode is connected to the metal pattern and a common electrode is connected to the common line. Various repair patterns are formed to define one or more repairing portions that enable connection of the drain electrode or metal pattern to a second pixel electrode of the second pixel region if the cut line is cut in the event the first pixel electrode fails to display an image.

A liquid crystal display device includes: first gate lines and second gate lines alternately formed in a first direction; data lines intersect the first gate lines and the second gate lines; common lines; shield lines extending from the common lines such that the shield lines are disposed adjacent to opposite sides of the data lines in parallel; first transistors formed at regions where the first gate lines and the data lines intersect; first pixel electrodes formed at pixel regions of first pixels defined by intersection between the first gate lines and the data lines, the first pixel electrodes at least partially overlapping with the common lines and the shield lines respectively around the pixel regions of the first pixels; and first common electrodes formed alternately with the first pixel electrodes at the pixel regions of the first pixels.

Array substrate for in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device

An in-plane mode liquid crystal display device (LCD) is provided that is capable of improving a contrast ratio by blocking a light leakage region formed by a column spacer. The LCD includes gate and data lines that are formed on a substrate and cross each other to define pixels. A switching device, parallel first and second electrodes that generate a horizontal electric field, and a column spacer are disposed at each pixel. The column spacers are disposed between opposing substrates and are aligned with black matrix or the data lines such that the columns formed by the column spacers overlap with bent portions of the data lines.
