A display device includes a base substrate; a thin-film transistor disposed on the base substrate; a via layer disposed on the thin-film transistor and having a via hole formed therein, the via hole penetrating the via layer in a thickness direction; a first electrode disposed on the via layer and having an electrode hole formed therein, the electrode hole penetrating the first electrode in the thickness direction; a bank layer disposed on the first electrode and exposing part of a top surface of the first electrode; an emission layer on the first electrode; and a second electrode on the emission layer, wherein the first is electrically connected to the thin-film transistor through the via hole, and the bank layer includes an outer bank pattern, which overlaps with the via hole in the thickness direction, and a bank island pattern, which is disposed in the electrode hole.

Display device

A display device may include: a substrate; first and second electrode on the substrate; light emitting element between the first and second electrodes; a barrier structure on the substrate and including a first surface, a second surface, and a third surface; a light conversion layer on the barrier structure; and a passivation layer on the light conversion layer. A first space defined by the second and third surfaces may be between the substrate and the barrier structure. A second space defined by the first and second surfaces may be between the barrier structure and the passivation layer. The first and second spaces may be alternately located in the first direction. The light emitting element may be in the first space. The light conversion layer may be in the at least one second space.

A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The display device includes a display substrate, sub-pixels on the display substrate, each of the sub-pixels including a first electrode and a second electrode on the display substrate and spaced apart from each other, light emitting elements between the first electrode and the second electrode, an insulating layer covering the light emitting elements, a protective pattern on the insulating layer and overlapping one of the light emitting elements, and a bank on the insulating layer at a boundary of one of the sub-pixels.

Display device and manufacturing method thereof

A display device includes a substrate and a display element layer disposed on the substrate and emitting light. The display element layer includes a first electrode electrically connected to a portion of a first light emitting element, a second electrode electrically connected to another portion of the first light emitting element, and at least one insulating structure disposed on the substrate and having a convex shape protruding from the substrate. The first light emitting element is disposed in a space of the at least one insulating structure. A method of manufacturing the display device is also disclosed.

A backlight unit includes a first substrate, a plurality of LED chips on one surface of the first substrate and configured to emit light of a first color, a second substrate located opposite to the one surface of the first substrate, and a plurality of light modulation patterns on one surface of the second substrate facing the one surface of the first substrate so as to overlap the plurality of LED chips, respectively. Each of the plurality of light modulation patterns includes a first wavelength conversion pattern that converts the light of the first color into light of a second color. Backlight unit, display device including the same, and manufacturing method thereof

A display device may include the following elements: a first substrate; a pixel electrode overlapping the first substrate; a second substrate overlapping the first substrate; a plurality of optical members disposed on the second substrate, having identical structures, and protruding toward the first substrate; an overcoat layer directly contacting the optical members, covering the optical members, and positioned between the first substrate and the optical members; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the pixel electrode and the overcoat layer. The pixel electrode may define one domain of the liquid crystal layer.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display (LCD) device comprising: a substrate on which an active area that transmits light therethrough is defined; and a pixel electrode disposed on the substrate, wherein the pixel electrode includes a first stem electrode, which extends along a first direction, a second stem electrode, which extends along a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction and intersects the first stem electrode to be divided into two halves by the first stem electrode, a third stem electrode, which extends along the second direction and is connected to the first stem electrode to be divided into two halves by an end of the first stem electrode, and a plurality of branch electrodes, which extend from the first through third stem electrodes.

A display device according to an exemplary embodiment includes: a substrate; a thin film transistor; a pixel electrode; a common electrode; an insulation layer disposed between the pixel electrode and the common electrode; a roof layer spaced apart from the pixel electrode with a plurality of microcavities disposed therebetween; and a liquid crystal layer disposed in the microcavities; wherein the pixel electrode includes n branch electrodes that extend parallel with each other, a first connection electrode that connects a first end of a first branch electrode and a first end of a second branch electrode, and a second connection electrode that connects second ends of the n branch electrodes, where the n branch electrodes each has a shape that is bent at least once on a plan view, and the first branch electrode includes a first sub-branch electrode and a second sub-branch that are spaced apart from each other.

Embodiments provide a display device including: a thin film transistor disposed on an insulation substrate including a plurality of pixels; a common electrode and a pixel electrode disposed on the thin film transistor to overlap each other while interposing an insulating layer therebetween; a liquid crystal layer filling microcavities differentiated by pixel electrodes, the pixel electrodes comprising the pixel electrode; and a roof layer that is disposed on a microcavity of the microcavities and includes an injection hole extending to the microcavity and a supporting member to support the microcavity; and an optical member disposed on the supporting member, wherein the injection hole is disposed between adjacent microcavities in a column direction, and the supporting member is disposed between adjacent microcavities in a row direction. Total reflection of light, bad alignment, and light leakage which may occur in the display device may be prevented by the optical member.

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate (FS) on which pixel regions are defined, a second substrate (SS) facing the FS, an alignment film disposed on a surface of the FS facing the SS, a wavelength conversion layer disposed on a surface of the SS facing the FS, a transmissive layer disposed on the surface of SS, a common electrode disposed on surfaces of the wavelength conversion layer and the transmissive layer facing the FS, a light-blocking member disposed on a surface of the common electrode facing the FS, and a liquid crystal layer between the alignment film and the light-blocking member. Each pixel region among the pixel regions includes: a pixel electrode disposed on the surface of the FS; an opening region in the light-blocking member; and a pixel overlap region outside the opening region, the pixel electrode overlapping the light-blocking member in the pixel overlap region.
