The present disclosure is directed to a liquid crystal display device including a display panel including a red pixel, a green pixel, and a blue pixel; and a backlight unit which emits light to the display panel. The backlight unit includes a light source which outputs a first color light; a color conversion layer which is configured to convert the first color light into a second color light; an optical sheet which diffuses or condenses the second color light; and an air gap formed between the color conversion layer and the optical sheet.

Backlight unit and liquid crystal display device including the same

An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device includes an OLED with a plurality of sub-pixels. A first portion of light-absorption filter layer is between the OLED and an emission surface at locations corresponding to selected sub-pixel locations. The first portion of light-absorption filter layer includes a first light-absorption dye and a second light-absorption dye such that the first portion has a light transmittance curve that has a first valley between 470 nm and 550 nm and has a second valley between 570 nm and 620 nm. At the selected sub-pixel locations, there is a color filter between the OLED and the light-absorption filter.

Organic light emitting diode display device

The present disclosure relates to a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device. The liquid crystal display device includes a display panel including a red pixel, a green pixel, and a blue pixel; and a backlight unit which emits light to the display panel, wherein the backlight unit includes: a light source providing a first color light; a color conversion layer disposed on the light source and converting a part of the first color light into a second color light; an optical sheet between the display panel and the color conversion layer; and an air gap between the color conversion layer and the optical sheet.
