A data storage device is disclosed comprising a head actuated over a disk comprising a plurality of servo tracks defined by servo bursts. The head is positioned at a first radial location over the disk and a first burst correction value is generated by reading at least one of the servo bursts. The head is positioned at a second radial location over the disk and a second burst correction value is generated by reading at least one of the servo bursts. The head is positioned at a third radial location over the disk and the first burst correction value and the second burst correction value are written at the third radial location. The head is servoed over the disk by reading the first and second burst correction values.

A disk drive is disclosed comprising a head, a disk surface comprising servo information, and a dual stage actuator (DSA) servo loop comprising a voice coil motor (VCM) servo loop comprising a VCM and a microactuator servo loop comprising a microactuator operable to actuate the head over the disk surface. A position error signal (PES) is generated based on the servo information, and a first control signal is generated based on the PES. A disk drive is disclosed comprising a disk comprising a plurality of servo tracks, wherein each servo track comprises a plurality of servo sectors, and an actuator for actuating a head over the disk in response to an actuator control signal. The servo sectors are read to generate a first sequence of control samples x[k] at a sample frequency corresponding to a frequency of the servo sectors. A hybrid upsample filter is used to upsample by a factor of N the first sequence of control samples x[k] to generate a second sequence of control samples y[k], wherein the hybrid upsample filter provides a higher phase gain than a zero-order type upsample filter at frequencies less than one kilohertz, and approximately the same attenuation as a first-order type upsample filter around the sample frequency. The actuator control signal is generated in response to the second sequence of control samples y[k].

A microactuator compensator processes a position error signal (PES) to generate a first control signal, and a disturbance sinusoid is injected into the first control signal to generate a second control signal, wherein the microactuator is controlled in response to the second control signal. Feed-forward compensation is generated corresponding to the injected disturbance sinusoid, and a third control signal is generated in response to the PES and the feed-forward compensation, wherein the VCM is controlled in response to the third control signal. A gain of the microactuator is estimated in response to the feed-forward compensation.

A disk drive is disclosed comprising a head actuated over a disk comprising a plurality of non-circular servo tracks for defining a plurality of substantially circular tracks. Each non-circular servo track comprises a plurality of servo sectors defining a plurality of servo wedges. The head is positioned at a first offset relative to a first circular track and a relationship of servo bursts for each servo wedge is first generated. The head is positioned at a second offset relative to the first circular track and the relationship of the servo bursts for each servo wedge is second generated. An estimated radial location of the head is generated in response to an actuator control signal. A Gray coded track ID is detected from reading a servo sector, and decoded into a detected track ID. A burst position error signal (PES) is generated from reading servo bursts in the servo sector, wherein the burst PES represents a detected fractional servo track offset of the head. When the detected track ID is corrupt, a corrected track ID is generated using the estimated radial location and the burst PES, and the actuator control signal is adjusted in response to the corrected track ID and the burst PES.
