The acoustic damping layer comprises at least two media wherein the at least two media are configured such that the acoustic damping layer comprises at least one direct energy transmission pathway and at least one indirect energy transmission pathway through the acoustic damping layer to the substrate.

Acoustic damping building material

A building element () that is suitable for use as a structural element in wet areas or external docking. The building element () comprises a rigid substrate () having an upper face (). Over the first face () lies a radiation curable resin () into which a layer of reinforcing material () is at least partially embedded. The reinforcing material () and resin () can be applied separately or together onto the first face () of the rigid substrate () or in some cases can be applied to both faces. An apparatus and method for producing the building sheet are also disclosed.

Surface sealed reinforced building element

The invention relates to a building section including a sub-structure and a cladding member connected in fixed relation relative to the sub-structure. A multi-function elongate, flexible insulating element is disposed between the sub-structure and the cladding member for damping energy transfer between the cladding member and the sub-structure, facilitating alignment of the cladding, and creating a rainscreen configured to drive out moisture from the wall cavities. The flexible insulating element includes a bond breaker disposed on the external surface of the insulating element. The bond breaker prevents externally applied joint sealant compound from adhering to the insulating element. The bond breaker can act as a safeguard to prevent joint sealant deterioration or adhesion to undesired surfaces.

The additive acts as a water reduction agent and can replace either wholly or partially a conventional plasticizer.

A method of making and improving a coating formulation which includes a hydraulic binder. To the formulation is added a quantity of dewatering agent. The resultant slurry produced from said formulation may be applied to the product to be coated and dewatered through said product. Dewatering can be accomplished with or without vacuum assistance.

Dewatering can be accomplished with or without vacuum assistance. The method is suitable for producing a composite product which comprises a base structural layer with the coating thereon.
