An electric switch for converting to rotary motion a rocker style switching mechanism. A switch cavity is formed in the case and a movable contact is provided in the switch cavity. A knob is coupled to an actuator mounted in the cavity for positive pivotal movement on a lateral axis. The knob contains cams formed in an interior knob cavity and is mounted on the switch so that when the knob is rotated on an axis perpendicular to the pivot axis of the actuator, the cams engage the actuator to move the movable contact between 'ON' and 'OFF' positions.

Rotary switch that converts to rotary action, a toggle style switching

A rotary key switch has a momentary action such that a lock cylinder and control member are returned to normal positions by a torsion spring provided in a central bore of the control member. The switch housing is in two parts, a lower body portion and an upper panel mounted cap portion that also supports the lock cylinder. The lower portion defines a cylindrical cavity and supports the control member on a central post that is also provided in this central bore. The housing portions are telescopically secured to one another and a stop is deformed in part by the control member and the panel mounted cap portion to positively limit the rotation of the key and lock cylinder.

Momentary rotary switch

A make before break switch having two opposed fixed contacts separately closed by a pivotal contact lever. A center fixed contact supports the lever for movement both pivotally and vertically so that the contact lever closes on both said two fixed contacts in an intermediate position. A conventional actuator means and spring biasing means controls the contact lever as it is so moved, and a secondary biasing means is provided below the lever to allow the make before break action as the actuating means moves through its intermediate position.

Make before break electrical switch

A miniature rotary switch having nested terminals in its bottom wall, and a disc shaped movable contact element arranged in a rotatable member such that a portion of the disc periphery rolls and slides across fixed contacts defined by the upper ends of these terminals. The rotatable member is restrained from movement axially in a cylindrical chamber defined for it by either a one piece housing, or in a key switch version by a two piece housing.

Rotary switch

A three position switch has three blade or strip type fixed contacts, which can be assembled by insertion in slots provided in the switch case. The switch has a stable center-off condition without requiring a yoke on the center fixed contact. The movable contact cooperates with the actuator's plunger portion to define this center-off switch condition and the elimination of such a yoke provides a simpler switch.

Three position center-off electrical switch

A normally open plunger switch capable of closing upon initial movement of the plunger, and allows overtravel of the plunger at least to the extent of one half the depth of the switch. The actuator is pivoted in the case in the manner of a conventional rocker/actuator and it is coupled to the plunger by projecting portions on both it and on the plunger to provide for both these features.

A rocker switch has a spring biased movable contact which is continually connected to an electrical potential source and a lamp in the actuator has one lead connected to this spring and the other to a uniquely located resistor such that the resistor is connected selectively to one of the fixed switch contacts for illuminating the lamp. The lamp wires and the resistor are retained in the rocker by means which permits ease of assembly for these elements.

A magnetically actuated indicator which includes an elongated housing and an elongated core having a first asymmetric axial extremity mounted for (a) sliding axial movement and (b) rotation about the axis thereof. At least one elongated winding is disposed for cooperation with the core. The apparatus also includes at least one rotatably mounted indicator member having at least first and second discrete magnetic poles disposed in spaced relationship.

A progressive 'on' switch has one common or first contact formed with a projecting portion located alongside a complementary intermediate or second contact, and a floating contact element which is movable through successive positions to a full 'on' position wherein one element edge abuts the third contact and an opposite element edge abuts fulcrum defining portions of these first and second complementary contacts.
