A powertrain control system is disclosed. The powertrain control system may have a power source and a CVT coupled to an output of the power source. The powertrain control system may further have a controller in communication with the power source and the CVT. The controller may have a map with a plurality of speed modes, and, for at least one of the plurality of speed modes, the controller may be configured to vary an actual power source speed based on at least one of a CVT output speed or a ground speed.

A power distribution system is provided having a power source configured to generate a power output. The power distribution system also has an available power module configured to determine a total available power generated by the power source. In addition, the power distribution system has one or more parasitic power request modules configured to receive a request for power from an associated parasitic device and one or more non-parasitic power request modules configured to receive a request for power from an associated non-parasitic device. The power distribution system further has a power distribution module configured to cause the distribution of power among the parasitic and non-parasitic devices. The power distributed among the non-parasitic devices is the power remaining after the parasitic devices receive their requested power.

Power distribution system

A power train is provided having a power source operably coupled to a transmission to transmit a power output to at least one traction device. The power train also has a controller configured to regulate the power output so that the power output generated when the at least one traction device is moving at a maximum speed is the maximum power output that the power source and the transmission are capable of producing.

Power train control system

A method for operating machine transmission during braking, includes obtaining data relating to brake pedal position, machine velocity, machine engine speed, current transmission operating gear, and lowest operating gear. Next, downshifting thresh holds are set based on whether pedal position is in a downshift mode or a braking mode. Next, the transmission is downshifted if the machine velocity and machine engine speed are less than the downshifting thresh holds, and if the transmission operating gear is not the lowest operating gear. Next, the transmission is neutralized if the pedal position is in a neutralizing mode, if the velocity is less than a neutralizing thresh hold velocity, and if the transmission is in the lowest operating gear. Finally, the above steps are repeated until the transmission is neutralized.
