Various embodiments include methods and devices for implementing decompression of compressed high dynamic ratio fields. Various embodiments may include receiving compressed first and second sets of data fields, decompressing the first and second compressed sets of data fields to generate first and second decompressed sets of data fields, receiving a mapping for mapping the first and second decompressed sets of data fields to a set of data units, aggregating the first and second decompressed sets of data fields using the mapping to generate a compression block comprising the set of data units.

Compression of high dynamic ratio fields for machine learning

Various embodiments include methods and devices for implementing compression of high dynamic ratio fields. Various embodiments may include receiving a compression block having data units, receiving a mapping for the compression block, wherein the mapping is configured to map bits of each data unit to two or more data fields to generate a first set of data fields and a second set of data fields, compressing the first set of data fields together to generate a compressed first set of data fields, and compressing the second set of data fields together to generate a compressed second set of data fields.

An exemplary method for intelligent compression defines a threshold value for a temperature reading generated by a temperature sensor. Data blocks received into the compression module are compressed according to either a first mode or a second mode, the selection of which is determined based on a comparison of the active level for the temperature reading to the defined threshold value. The first compression mode may be associated with a lossless compression algorithm while the second compression mode is associated with a lossy compression algorithm. Or, both the first compression mode and the second compression mode may be associated with a lossless compression algorithm, however, for the first compression mode the received data blocks are produced at a default high quality level setting while for the second compression mode the received data blocks are produced at a reduced quality level setting.

System and method for intelligent data/frame compression in a system on a chip

An exemplary method for intelligent compression defines a threshold value for a key performance indicator. Based on the key performance indicator value, data blocks generated by a producer component may be scaled down to reduce power and/or bandwidth consumption when being compressed according to a lossless compression module. The compressed data blocks are then stored in a memory component along with metadata that signals the scaling factor used prior to compression. Consumer components later retrieving the compressed data blocks from the memory component may decompress the data blocks and upscale, if required, based on the scaling factor signaled by the metadata.

An apparatus includes a unified system/graphics memory and a memory controller. The memory controller is operative to receive client data access requests associated with one or more clients and a central processing unit (CPU) data access request associated with a CPU, to a plurality of memory channels for accessing the unified system/graphics memory. The memory controller is operative to provide access to the plurality of memory channels, in parallel, by the CPU and at least one client of the one or more clients. The memory controller is operative to prioritize the CPU data access request to the unified memory over the client data access requests to the unified memory and control the plurality of memory channels to access, in parallel, data for the CPU and data for the at least one client based on a request of the client data access requests and the CPU data access request.

A central processor unit (CPU) is connected to a system/graphics controller generally comprising a monolithic semiconductor device. The system/graphics controller is connected to an input output (IO) controller via a high-speed PCI bus. The IO controller interfaces to the system graphics controller via the high-speed PCI bus. The IO controller includes a lower speed PCI port controlled by an arbiter within the IO controller. Generally, the low speed PCI arbiter of the IO controller will interface to standard 33 MHz PCI cards. In addition, the IO controller interfaces to an external storage device, such as a hard drive, via either a standard or a proprietary bus protocol. A unified system/graphics memory which is accessed by the system/graphics controller. The unified memory contains both system data and graphics data. In a specific embodiment, two channels, CH0 and CH1 access the unified memory. Each channel is capable of accessing a portion of memory containing graphics data or a portion of memory containing system data.

Memory device for providing data in a graphics system and method and apparatus thereof

Systems and methods for multispectral imaging are disclosed. The multispectral imaging system can include a near infrared (NIR) imaging sensor and a visible imaging sensor. The disclosed systems and methods can be implemented to improve alignment between the NIR and visible images. Once the NIR and visible images are aligned, various types of multispectral processing techniques can be performed on the aligned images.

In an example, a method of gamut mapping may include generating a first second-order or higher response-surface regression model that maps color values corresponding to the second color space to color values corresponding to the first color space. The method may include generating predicted color values for measured color values by inputting measured color values into the first second-order or higher response-surface regression model. The method may include generating, based on predicted color values and a plurality of color values, a second second-order or higher response-surface regression model that maps predicted color values output by the first second-order or higher response-surface regression model corresponding to the first color space to color values corresponding to the first color space.

White point calibration and gamut mapping for a display

In an example, a method of calibrating a white point of a display may include receiving a plurality of color values, and one or more measured color values corresponding to one or more colors displayed by a first target display. The method may include generating, based on the plurality of color values and the one or more measured color values, a second-order or higher response-surface regression model that maps color values corresponding to a second color space to color values corresponding to a first color space. The method may include generating predicted color values for a specified white point by inputting a plurality of specified color values corresponding to the specified white point into the second-order or higher response-surface regression model, where each predicted color value may correspond to the first color space and each of the specified color values may correspond to the second color space.

The techniques of this disclosure are applicable to backlight display devices. For such devices, the backlight may have different backlight intensity settings in order to promote power conservation. The techniques of this disclosure may apply different adjustments to the display, depending on the backlight intensity setting. In one example, different color correction matrices may be applied for different backlight settings in order to achieve desirable adjustments in the device at the different backlight settings. The adjustments described herein may address chrominance shifts due to different backlight settings as well as cross-talk between color channels. The techniques may also be applicable to organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays that have different luminance settings, and some described techniques may be applicable to displays that have static or fixed luminance output.

Adaptive color correction for display with backlight modulation

Described herein are methods, systems and apparatus to improve imaging sensor production yields. In one method, a stereoscopic image sensor pair is provided from a manufacturing line. One or more images of a correction pattern are captured by the image sensor pair. Correction angles of the sensor pair are determined based on the images of the correction pattern. The correction angles of the sensor pair are represented graphically in a three dimensional space. Analysis of the graphical representation of the correction angles through statistical processing results in a set of production correction parameters that may be input into a manufacturing line to improve sensor pair yields.

System and method for improving methods of manufacturing stereoscopic image sensors

Systems, methods, and apparatus for a touch sensitive display device providing editable handwriting capture are described. A display device with a detachable front panel is capable of interactive touch sensing and editable handwriting capture. An ultraviolet or near ultraviolet light source and camera can be configured to capture images of textual input made on the detachable front panel of the device with a pen having water soluble fluorescent ink that is transparent or nontransparent such that the notes are visible under ultraviolet or near ultraviolet light and transparent when little or no ultraviolet or near ultraviolet light is present. The detachable front panel may be removed from the display device for cleaning and ease of use.

System and method for capturing editable handwriting on a display

An apparatus and method for displaying content is disclosed. A particular method includes determining a viewing orientation of a user relative to a display and providing a portion of content to the display based on the viewing orientation. The portion includes at least a first viewable element of the content and does not include at least one second viewable element of the content. The method also includes determining an updated viewing orientation of the user and updating the portion of the content based on the updated viewing orientation. The updated portion includes at least the second viewable element. A display difference between the portion and the updated portion is non-linearly related to an orientation difference between the viewing orientation and the updated viewing orientation.

System and method to display content based on viewing orientation

A transform function represented by at least n points that define n&#x2212;1 regions is determined based at least in part on a first set of values associated with a display frame and a maximum average contrast function.
