The present application relates to steam iron () comprising a soleplate (), a discharge element (), a retaining member () and a collection compartment (). The soleplate () comprises a steam chamber () for generating steam. The steam chamber () comprising an opening (A) arranged at a rear end (R) of the soleplate (). The discharge element () extends from the opening (A). The collection compartment () is formed in the discharge element () for collecting calcified deposits (S) formed in the steam chamber (). The retaining member () is arranged in the discharge element (). T retaining member () extends over a front end portion (P) of the collection compartment () to retain the calcified deposits (S) in the collection comportment (). This invention prevents the calcified deposits from escaping from the collection compartment when the steam iron is tilted.

The present invention relates to a device () for generating steam. The device () comprises a plate () forming a surface, and a heating element () to heat the plate () to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature. The plate () is inclined at an angle compared to the horizontal direction to define an upper end and a lower end. The device () also comprises a water inlet arrangement () for dispensing water onto the plate () proximate the upper end, a control unit () to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (), and a scale collection container () disposed adjacent to the plate (). The control unit () is configured to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate () and the temperature of the plate () so that substantially all the water dispensed onto the plate () evaporates before it reaches the lower end () of the plate (). This invention allows an easy scale collection, thanks to the inclination angle of the plate's surface that causes the dislodged scale to travel down the plate's surface toward the lower end of the plate and, ultimately, into the container.

Method and device for generating steam comprising a scale container and steamer appliance with such a device

A domestic appliance, such as a steam iron or a coffee making apparatus. The appliance comprises a housing, a water reservoir, an actuator, and a boiler for providing hot water or steam for an appliance. An input of the actuator is connected to the water reservoir, an output of the actuator is connected to an inlet of the boiler. In operation, the actuator introduces vibrations which are transmitted to the housing and radiated by the housing to the environment which cause unwanted sounds and noise. The unwanted sounds and noise induced by these vibrations is substantially reduced via two leaf springs mounted at opposite sides of the actuator which reduce the transmission of the vibrating energy by moving the actuator in a direction opposite to a direction of the movement of the drive member.

Domestic appliance comprising an actuator

A domestic appliance, such as a steam iron or a coffee making apparatus comprises a housing, a water reservoir, an actuator, and a boiler for providing hot water or steam for use by the appliance. In operation, a plunger pump of the actuator is reciprocating at the mains frequency, which introduces vibrations. To reduce undesired sound and noise from the vibrations, the domestic appliance further comprises a sub frame and a base frame, wherein the actuator is mounted on the sub frame and a resilient member is arranged between the sub frame and the base frame for moveably mounting the sub frame at the base frame.

The invention relates to a garment steaming appliance comprising a sole plate assembly () comprising a steam channel () for receiving a flow of steam, an ironing plate () comprising an ironing surface () and an opposing upper surface, wherein the steam channel () extends along the upper surface of the ironing plate (), and a vent () extending through said ironing plate () from said steam channel () to said ironing surface (). The steam channel () is configured to divide the flow of steam into multiple flow paths that reconverge above said vent () from different directions to control the direction of the resultant flow of steam out of said vent () relative to said ironing surface ().

Garment steaming appliance

The present application relates to a steam iron head (). The steam iron head () has a steam inlet (), a steam pathway (), and at least one steam vent through which steam is discharged from the steam iron head. The steam pathway () has a first steam flow section () and a second steam flow section (). The first steam flow section () defines an indirect flow path between the steam inlet () and a second steam flow section (). The second steam flow section () defines a cyclonic flow path between the first steam flow section () and the at least one steam vent. The present application also relates to a steam system iron () having a steam iron head (). This invention helps remove any water droplets, for example formed by condensation, from the steam flow passing through the steam iron head from the steam inlet to the at least one steam vent.

Steam iron head

The present application relates to a steam iron () for treating garments, comprising a heel () to rest the steam iron () on a supporting surface (S) when the steam iron () is not treating garments, a pressurization unit () having a chamber () comprising a water inlet () for receiving water and a water outlet (). The pressurization unit () is adapted so that, in a rest position (PI) where the heel () is placed on the supporting surface (S), it generates an air vacuum in the chamber () to draw water into the chamber () via the water inlet () and, in a lifted position (P) where the heel () is not placed on the supporting surface (S), pressurizes the water drawn in the chamber (). The steam iron also comprises a steam engine () for generating steam from water towards the garments and a water output channel () for carrying water under pressure from the water outlet () to the steam engine (). This invention allows easily pressurizing the water in the chamber for in turn increasing the steam generation.

A garment steamer () comprising a base body () accommodating a liquid water tank (); a liquid water pump (), having a water inlet () and a water outlet (), wherein the water inlet () is fluidly connected to the liquid water tank (). The garment steamer also comprises a steam head () that is moveable with respect to the base body () and that accommodates a steam chamber (), having a liquid water inlet and a steam outlet, wherein said steam outlet includes at least one steam nozzle (); a heating element () that is provided in or adjacent said steam chamber (), and configured to evaporate liquid water passing through said steam chamber. Garment steamer and method for the same

The present invention relates to an apparatus for generating steam comprising a water heating chamber in which water is heated to generate steam. The apparatus also includes a cavity having an inlet communicating with the water heating chamber so that water in the water heating chamber is received in the cavity and a sealable outlet. The cavity is configured to limit the flow of convection currents in the water received in the cavity so that scales and/or solid particles suspended in the water accumulate in the cavity. Alternatively, a guide member is disposed at the inlet to the cavity which is configured to guide scales and/or solid particles suspended in the water into the cavity.

Apparatus for generating steam

A device () for refreshing garments comprises means () for supporting a garment and means () for generating an air flow at the location where a garment is present when it is put in place on the supporting means (). The supporting means () comprise two parts () which are both suitable to be used for supporting a garment, and which are displaceably arranged with respect to each other. In this way, an enhanced functionality of the device () may be achieved in comparison with a device having supporting means which comprise only a single part.
