Tracking objects presented within a stereo three-dimensional (3D) scene. The user control device may include one or more visually indicated points for at least one tracking sensor to track. The user control device may also include other position determining devices, for example, an accelerometer and/or gyroscope. Precise 3D coordinates of the stylus may be determined based on location information from the tracking sensor(s) and additional information from the other position determining devices. A stereo 3D scene may be updated to reflect the determined coordinates.

An apparatus for and a method of wirelessly receiving a signal, and detecting a start of packet (SOP) from the received signal using at least one SOP detection criterion. In the case an SOP is detected, determining a plurality of metrics from the received signal, and using at least two of the plurality of metrics to determine an initial timing for a received packet. Different versions combine the metrics in different ways to determine the initial timing. The apparatus includes a processing circuit coupled to a radio receiver to determine a plurality of metrics from a wirelessly received signal, and an initial time determining circuit coupled to the SOP detector and the processing circuit. In the case an SOP is detected, the initial time determining circuit uses at least two of the plurality of metrics to determine an initial timing for a received packet.

Initial timing estimation in a wireless network receiver

In one embodiment, a method for generating a radio-frequency coverage map. The method includes receiving coverage map data comprising a plurality of locations within a region, and an identification of a location in the plurality of locations corresponding to a radio transceiver, wherein the locations within the region are represented by at least corresponding x- and y-terms of a Cartesian coordinate system. The method further includes receiving calibration data comprising a plurality of observed signal strength values at corresponding ones of the plurality of locations, converting the x- and y-terms of the locations of the coverage map data to corresponding first and second warped coordinate terms of a warped coordinate system, and computing, using linear interpolation and the first and second warped coordinate terms, predicted received signal strength values at one or more locations in the coverage map based on the calibration data.

Radio frequency coverage map generation in wireless networks

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving calibration data, computing one or more attributes of a pathloss model based on the calibration data, computing estimated locations using the received signal strength values of the calibration data points, associating location errors with the one or more calibration data points, and computing a location quality within a region based on the associated location errors.

A method, apparatus, and carrier medium for determining channel state information (CSI) in an OFDM radio receiver. The receiver is for receiving packets of OFDM data as a result of OFDM data being transmitted. The method includes forming an estimate of the channels of the subcarriers for received OFDM data to provide frequency responses of the channels of the subcarriers, and forming a measure of quality ('channel state information,' 'CSI') for the channels of the subcarriers based on the relative strength of the frequency responses. The forming of the CSI does not require estimating the relative amount of noise or interference in each channel. The formed CSI is used in demodulating and decoding received OFDM data.
