An interlaced data acquisition scheme is employed in an ultrasound imaging device to reduce the amount of electrical power consumed by the device's transmit firings when collecting video data. Reducing electrical consumption according to the present disclosure reduces battery size, weight and cost; reduces heat generation; reduces need for heat-dissipating materials in the probe and prolongs probe uptime. A reconstruction algorithm is employed to produce images from the interlaced data that are comparable in quality to videos that would be obtained by a conventional (non-interlaced) image acquisition.

Systems and methods for use in identifying a brain condition of a subject are provided. In some aspects, a provided method includes constructing a classifier to identify a brain condition of a subject comprising steps of receiving image data obtained from a plurality of subjects, wherein the image data is acquired during an acquisition period following administration of at least one radioactive tracer. The method also includes defining a plurality of brain condition classes using the image data associated with one or more time frames during the acquisition period, and processing the image data to generate signatures corresponding to each of the plurality brain condition classes. The method further includes constructing the classifier using the signatures. The classifier can then be applied to determine a degree to which the subject expresses one or more disease states in order to determine a brain condition of the subject.

A method and apparatus for imaging an eye of a patient and detecting any condition or disease in the eye. A near infrared light beam is emitted into the eye through the skin adjacent to the eye. A digital image is acquired from the light reflected from the eye. The image shows details that are not perceivable using current examination techniques. Images are acquired using more than one infrared wavelength using a multispectral illumination device for a more thorough analysis.

A method for detecting a mass density image of an object. An x-ray beam is transmitted through the object and a transmitted beam is emitted from the object. The transmitted beam is directed at an angle of incidence upon a crystal analyzer. A diffracted beam is emitted from the crystal analyzer onto a detector and digitized. A first image of the object is detected from the diffracted beam emitted from the crystal analyzer when positioned at a first angular position. A second image of the object is detected from the diffracted beam emitted from the crystal analyzer when positioned at a second angular position. A method for detecting an image of an object by measuring the intensity at a plurality of positions of a transmitted beam of x-ray radiation emitted from the object as a function of angle within the transmitted beam. A method and system for improving signal recovery for tomographic-type detection systems is disclosed which reduces the effect of blurring by obtaining a spatial response function for a plurality of selected detectors and moving the detectors to various positions at various times such that at least two tomographic measurements are taken of substantially the same signal when the object and detection means are at different relative positions. The measurements are then represented as a set of linear equations wherein elements of the response function become weighting factors for corresponding unknown tomographic signal elements. The unknown tomographic signal elements are then estimated by solving the set of linear equations. The tomographic signal elements may then be used as data in projection profiles to generate projection matrices or images directly.
