A contact stud is disclosed. The contact stud has a protector, a connection section, and a base section. The connection section is insertable into a terminal along an insertion direction. The connection section has a contact region protected by the protector from an insulative coating applied to a remainder of the connection section. The base section is mounted on a grounding surface.

A tool for mounting a terminal onto a stud contact is disclosed. The tool has a receptacle, a stud detector, and an indicator. The receptacle is open in a mounting direction and receives the terminal. The stud detector detects a final installation position of the stud contact within the receptacle. The indicator is visible from an exterior of the tool and is connected to the stud detector. The indicator has a first visual appearance and a second visual appearance different from the first visual appearance, and automatically switches between the first visual appearance and the second visual appearance based on whether the stud contact is in the final installation position.

A plug for a socket of an airbag is disclosed. The plug has a position assurance member having a movable member and a static member and the position assurance member is movable between a transport position and an end position by moving the movable member in relation to the static member. The plug also has a shorting contact, a flow of current in the shorting contact being possible in the transport position while the flow of current is not possible in the end position. The end position is attainable only when the plug is inserted into the socket.

Plug

The present invention relates to a plug comprising a main housing, at least one conductor guide and a supplementary part. To improve the plug such that the conductor guide can be assembled as easily as possible and its correct position easily checked, with the conductor guide still being well secured, the conductor guide comprises a retaining profile with which a partial profile of the main housing and a supplementary profile of the supplementary part can be brought, at least in certain sections, into engagement so as to correspond with each other. The supplementary part can be moved relative to the main housing between a starting position and a closed position, and in the starting position the conductor guide can be positioned in an opening formed with the partial profile and the supplementary profile and is axially loosely movable and in the closed position is rotatably and axially fixed relative to the main housing and the supplementary part owing to the engagement of the holding profile with the partial profile and the supplementary profile.

A plug connector has a housing having a contact element extending therefrom. The contact element has a connecting region arranged outside of the housing for electrically connecting the contact element to an electrical lead. A sealing element surrounds the connecting region. The sealing element is axially slideable along the connecting region into engagement with the housing.

An electrical receptacle contact for engaging a complementary tab terminal (not shown) comprising a contact portion and a conductor engaging portion, where the contact portion includes a body portion and at least three contact arms including a pair of spaced-apart outer contact arms extending from the body with an inner contact arm extending therebetween and the contact arms have contact surfaces thereupon for engaging a common side of the tab terminal, the receptacle contact being characterized in that the inner contact arm is supported therealong independently of the adjacent outer contact arm by a transverse support rail to provide the inner contact arm with enhanced stiffness. The contact being of simple construction, with multiple connection points established essentially independently, where the inner contact arms are independently stiffened.

A part of an electric contact is specified, which is formed from a sheet, is constructed in the shape of a box, has at least four side walls and is assembled in such a way that there is located in one side wall a seam a which opposite edges of the sheet abut one another. The opposite edges are of counterbalanced configuration, and two projections are provided on the edge, and two recesses on the edge. A depression in the shape of half a spherical cap is located on the edge between the recesses. Depressions in the shape of half a spherical cap are arranged on the edge in the projections. The arrangement is intended to prevent the two edges from overlapping by virtue of a lateral effect of force.

A terminal for mounting on a printed circuit board (PCB) has a receptacle contact portion for receiving a complementary pin therein between contact arms. The contact section is connected to the PCB connection section by long spring arms that comprise a series of spring beams oriented in different planes. The spring arms are thus supple in X, Y and Z directions to allow great floatability of the contact sections with respect to the PCB.
