A process for preparing toner particles and compositions adapted for use in preparing toners that comprise a blend of a first polyester resin with a second sharp melting polyester resin. The process includes forming an emulsion resin comprising a branched polyester resin, a crystalline polyester resin, a colorant, and optionally a wax. The resin mixture is aggregated using an aggregating agent, such as a zinc acetate solution, to form an aggregate mixture. The aggregate mixture is then coalesced at a temperature of from about 5 to about 20&#xb0; C. above the Tof the emulsion resin to produce the resultant toner particles.

Low melt toners and processes thereof

An emulsion polymerization process comprising polymerizing monomer in an emulsion in a reaction vessel at a first temperature to form a resin; cooling the reaction vessel to a second temperature that is above the softening point of the resin yet below the temperature required for significant depolymerization reaction to occur; and adding water to the cooled reaction vessel in an amount sufficient to effect phase inversion with mixing for a sufficient time to form an aqueous latex emulsion in the absence of a surfactant.

Emulsion polymerization process

A process for manufacturing a toner having improved relative humidity sensitivity is described. The process comprises forming polyester toner particles by emulsion/aggratation, fluidizing the toner particles with a stream of inert gas while spraying the toner particles with a solution containing an additive affecting relative humidity sensitivity, and wherein the additive contacts a surface of the toner particles and the additive remains on the surface of the toner particles.

A toner process comprising the aggregation and coalescence of a sulfonated polyester and a colorant, and wherein said polyester possesses a degree of sulfonation or a sulfonation percentage of from about 0.5 to about 3 mol percent.

Chemical aggregation process using inline mixer

A process for forming toner particles includes aggregating the toner particles by adding an aggregating agent to a latex emulsion of resin having a colorant mixed therein, the adding being done under adding conditions of agitation and a temperature above a glass transition temperature of the resin, wherein the adding of the aggregating agent comprises first introducing at least about 40% by weight of a total amount of aggregating agent to be added at a rapid introduction rate and subsequently adding a remaining portion of the aggregating agent at a continuous addition rate slower than the rapid introduction rate. The particles are subsequently cooled to a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the resin when particles have been grown to the desired size.
