The present invention relates to a home appliance which can communicate with an outside of the home appliance, an online system including the same and a method for using an online system. According to embodiments of the present invention, a home appliance, an online system and a method for using an online system may be provided, each including a WiFi communication module mounted or connected to the home appliance for supporting a setting mode for making communication connection and a use mode for enabling communication, and a particular input unit provided to run the setting mode by user's selection, wherein the home appliance is changed to the use mode upon reception of SSID (Service Set Identifier; a name of a wireless LAN) information of an access point AP desired to access and user information required for registration of the home appliance through an external terminal after access to the setting mode through the external terminal provided separate from the home appliance.

Laundry machine and online system including the same

An online system, including a smart laundry machine, which is capable of easily and inexpensively using the smart laundry machine is disclosed. A further extended type of a smart home appliance, an online system including the same, and a method of using the online system are also disclosed. A laundry machine communicates with a server, is remotely controlled by an external terminal through the server, and has a control panel for a user interface. The control panel includes a course selection unit, an option selection unit, a start button, a display unit to display state information of the laundry machine, and a remote service activation input unit to set or cancel remote service activation according to user selection. The remote control is performed only in a case in which the remote service activation is set.

Home appliance and online system including the same

The present invention relates to a home appliance which can communicate with an outside of the home appliance, an online system and a method for using the online system including the same. According to embodiments of the present invention, a method for using an online system may be provided including the steps of log in a server by transmitting user information to the server through an external terminal, selecting a laundry machine of which course updating is desired through the external terminal and transmitting the same to the server, receiving updatable course information from the server, and displaying the information on the external terminal, selecting an updating desired course through the external terminal, and transmitting selected course information to the server, and updating the laundry machine with the selected course through the server.

The present invention relates to a home appliance which can communicate with an outside of the home appliance and an online system including the same. A method of using an online system includes transmitting user information to a server through an external terminal to log in to the server, the server specifying a home appliance for a remote service based on the user information received from the external terminal and determining whether remote service activation of the specified home appliance is set, upon determining that the remote service activation of the home appliance is set, the server transmitting operation information of the home appliance to the external terminal, the external terminal transmitting a command signal to the server such that the home appliance is operated based on the received operation information, the server receiving the command signal, and the server transmitting the command signal to the home appliance such that the home appliance is operated.

A method of using an online system includes transmitting user information to a server through an external terminal to log in to the server. The server specifies a home appliance for a remote service based on the user information received from the external terminal and determines whether remote service activation of the specified home appliance is set, upon determining that the remote service activation of the home appliance is set. The server transmits operation information of the home appliance to the external terminal. The external terminal transmits a command signal to the server such that the home appliance is operated based on the received operation information. The server receives the command signal, and the server transmits the command signal to the home appliance such that the home appliance is operated.

Disclosed is a home appliance system including a home appliance and a mobile terminal. The home appliance includes a tag unit, a communication unit, a memory, a display unit, an input unit, a drive control unit and a controller to control general operations of the home appliance, the home appliance including a washing machine. The mobile terminal includes a communication unit, a storage unit, a display unit, an input unit, a speaker and a terminal controller.

A home appliance, a home appliance system, and a method of controlling the same are provided. The home appliance includes a display unit that outputs an operation setting and an operation state. The home appliance further includes a tag unit that performs Near Field Communication (NFC) with a terminal. The home appliance further includes a controller that (i) stores product information at the tag unit, (ii) receives data stored at the tag unit, (iii) changes the operation setting, (iv) controls the operation state, and (v) outputs the changed operation setting to the display unit. A home appliance and a method of controlling the same are provided. The home appliance may include a controller that processes state data. The state data may include raw data representing an operation state of the home appliance. The controller may also output diagnosis result data representing whether or not an error has occurred in the home appliance. A tag device including a tag storage device may store the state data and the diagnosis result data, and a transmitting and receiving device may transmit the state data and the diagnosis result data when an external device is tagged.
