The invention relates to a sprinkler bulb comprising a sealed frangible housing, and a circuit devicewithin the housing, wherein the circuit device comprises a capacitorarranged to be used as a pressure sensor. The invention also relates to a method of measuring pressure inside a sprinkler bulb using a capacitorof the circuit devicewithin a housingof the bulb as a pressure sensor.

Sprinkler bulb

There is provided a sprinkler device, comprising: a sprinkler bulbcomprising a sealed frangible housing, and a passive circuit devicewithin the housing, wherein the passive circuit devicecomprises a wireless module; and a base stationconfigured to detect pressure changes inside the sprinkler bulbvia the wireless module. A method of testing integrity of a sprinkler bulb is also provided, comprising: monitoring a pressure change within the sprinkler bulbvia a wireless moduleof a passive circuit deviceinside a sealed frangible housingof the sprinkler bulb; and determining that the sprinkler bulb is in working order if the pressure reaches a predetermined threshold; or determining that the sprinkler bulb is not in working order if the pressure does not reach the predetermined threshold.
