A method for determining a location specific as-built performance value in an earthworks construction site comprises determining an earthworks information model of the earthworks construction site, determining a location of a tool of an earthworks machine in the earthworks construction site and, respectively, in the earthworks information model, determining a work task in the construction site for the earthworks machine from the earthworks information model, determining, based at least in part on the location of the tool of the earthworks machine in the earthworks information model, a location specific part of the determined work task in the construction site, and obtaining as the location specific as-built performance value, from the earthworks machine, at least one of: emissions, energy consumption or elapsed time associated with the location specific part of the determined work task in the construction site.

Method for determining location specific as-built performance value in earthworks construction site

A method determines location and orientation of a machine in a worksite. The worksite is equipped with at least one reference point. The method comprises setting a tracking apparatus on the machine, tracking the machine with the tracking apparatus by determining location of at least one reference point in the worksite with respect to the tracking apparatus, transmitting data from the tracking apparatus to a position determination unit regarding the tracking, and determining by the position determination unit based at least in part on the data received from the tracking apparatus the location and orientation of the machine in the worksite.

The invention is based on controlling operations of an earthmoving machine controllable by the operator by using only one to four controllers and at least one displaying means for displaying controls selectable and controllable by the one to four controllers. The selections and controls of the operations for controlling the earthmoving machine may be transmitted to the control unit both by wire and wirelessly. Thus, the one to four controllers are operable both attached and detached. Further, the control system is arranged to determine the location of the one to four controllers with respect to the earthmoving machine.

A positioning system and a method of positioning a construction machine on a work site include at least one reference point on the work site. Position data of the reference point is determined in a work site coordinate system and input to a control unit of the construction machine. A tool is calibration positioned in accordance with the reference point in order to connect a machine coordinate system to the work coordinate system.
