There is provided a solution for employing a neural network in a radio receiver. According to an aspect, a method comprises: acquiring, from a received frame, a set of samples associated with a position of a control information element in the frame; inputting the set of samples to nodes of an input layer of a neural network, the input layer having the same number of nodes as a number of samples in the set of samples; processing the set of samples in the neural network that has been trained, before receiving the set of samples, to decode one or more determined values of the control information element and to detect discontinuous transmission; outputting, in an output layer of the neural network, an indicator indicating a decoded value of the control information element comprised in the set of samples or an indicator indicating the discontinuous transmission.

A group of symbols forms one information element. A group of reference values are formed on the basis of the received signal. Of these reference values at least one vector is formed wherein the number of the elements corresponds to the number of symbols use in the transmission of the information element. A determination vector is formed on the basis of the at least one vector, whereafter the greatest of the elements of the determination vector is searched. The receiver receives the signals at the same time. The receiver also includes a processor configured to receive the receiving elements composite signal and providing an estimate of at least two of the signals. The processor is also configured to provide an estimate of a first one of the signals and to provide an estimate of a second one of the signals. The processor is configured, for each already determined estimate, to extend the estimate with a plurality of potential values. The estimate of the second one of the signals takes into account the estimate of the first signal and the estimate of the first signal is modified in dependence on the estimate of the second signal.

Method and receiver for reception of a composite signal

The invention relates to a transmitting and receiving method and a radio system. In a transmitter the signals to be transmitted are spread coded in means and modulated by subcarriers in means. In a receiver (R) the signals are demodulated in means and submitted to multiuser detection in means by using the subcarriers to limit the number of detectable signals in the means. The receiver uses multiuser detection for reducing multiple access interference and correcting frequency-selective fading.

Transmitting and receiving method and radio system

An OFDM receiver determines (12; 27) the pulse response of a radio channel and locates (13; 14) its starting point, end point and the maximum and its value. The difference between the end point and the starting point gives the length of the pulse response. A guard interval time corresponding to the guard interval separating the OFDM symbols is set (17; 18) in the receiver in such a manner that it covers the most significant components of the pulse response. A slow and monotonous temporal shift of the pulse response between measurement rounds indicates an error in the sampling frequency. The error is corrected (23; 31) in such a manner that the pulse response shift is compensated for.
