The invention can be used for enabling service discovery. Service discovery can be enabled by requesting, by a first apparatus from a gateway entity, information on apparatuses capable of providing a predetermined service and being located in proximity of the first apparatus, receiving, by the first apparatus from the gateway entity, a predetermined resource identifier associated with a second apparatus capable of providing the predetermined service and being located in proximity of the first apparatus, the predetermined resource identifier being received as a response to the request, and sending, by the first apparatus, a resource request to the second apparatus using the predetermined resource identifier associated with the second apparatus. Service discovery can also be enabled by receiving, by a first apparatus, a resource request sent by a second apparatus using a predetermined resource identifier associated with a wireless service of the first apparatus, wherein the second apparatus is located in proximity of the first apparatus, determining whether the wireless service of the first apparatus is to be made available to the second apparatus, initiating the wireless service at the first apparatus in case it is determined, that the wireless service is to be made available to the second apparatus, creating a response to the resource request, inserting into the response a parameter required for establishing a connection to the wireless service of the first apparatus, and sending the response to the second apparatus.

Method, mobile terminal, system and computer program product for real time content attributing

A method and apparatus for facilitating access to mobile Web servers by any requesting entity from within a network. The mobile Web servers are allocated Uniform Resource Locators (URL), which are discoverable by the requesting entities through conventional use of search engines, service discovery mechanisms, registries, etc. A direct communication link exists between the mobile Web servers and the gateway to allow specific information to be obtained from the mobile Web servers and subsequently advertised by the gateway in the form of an indexed list. The indexed list allows the requesting entities to browse the mobile Web servers sponsored by the gateway for any location specific content/data that may be of interest to the requesting entities. The mobile Web servers facilitate the ability for the requesting entities to influence the content/data that is offered by the mobile Web servers.

Method and apparatus for implementing a mobile web server based system

A method and system locate a transponder that has an associated identifier and content data, at a location substantially accessible to a user of the mobile terminal. The transponder is activated by the mobile terminal with a wireless signal. The user's Bluetooth device substitutes a pseudonym address for the Bluetooth Device Address (BD_ADDR). The pseudonym address is a randomized version of the BD_ADDR. The pseudonym address is used in all the functions of the Bluetooth device that normally use the BD_ADDR, including the frequency hopping sequence, the device access code, the initialization key in link encryption, the authentication code, and the various packet addresses. A method, system, and apparatus for protecting personal privacy in a wireless local area network using a framework at both the terminal and the service in the wireless local area network. The terminal includes a memory that stores the profile data for a user. The terminal is coupled by radio frequency to an access point that is also coupled to a wired network such as the Internet. A service operator coupled to the wired network offers a service opportunity to the user by sending a message to the terminal that includes the service opportunity. If the profile data for the user indicates that the user is interested in either this type of service opportunity or this particular service, the user sends at least a portion of the profile data to the service operator. The service operator uses the profile data to personalize the service prior to sending it to the user. If the profile data for the user indicates that the user does not want to disclose the profile data for this service opportunity, the service operator can only respond by sending a default service opportunity or not sending any service opportunity.
