A micro electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) microphone includes a first back plate positioned on top of a first moving plate, wherein the first moving plate flexes in response to changes in air pressure caused by audio signals. The MEMS microphone also includes a valve comprising a valve moving plate, wherein a first end of the valve moving plate is fixedly attached to a MEMS die and the valve moving plate flexes in response to high sound pressure levels such that a second end of the valve moving plate enables airflow to prevent audio signal distortion.

An apparatus for air flow generation for scent output is described. The device includes a scent system, a speaker, and an output channel. The scent system and the speaker share the output channel, and the speaker is to move air to release scent from the device. A membrane of the speaker may vibrate to produce the air flow.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to implement cooling fans with selectively activated vibration modes are disclosed. An example cooling fan assembly includes a motor and a fan coupled to a shaft of the motor. The motor is to rotate the shaft in a first direction to cause the fan to move air. The motor is to rotate the shaft in a second direction to cause vibration from an eccentric mass coupled to the shaft.

An example system for projector image alignment. The system for projector image alignment can include a processor to compare a first calibration-pattern image projected by a first projector and at least a portion of a second calibration-pattern image projected by a second projector and generate a geometric model of an aligned image for display by both the first projector and the second projector. A figure gesture sensing device includes a ring-shaped housing, a transmitter, a receiver, and a computer processor. The housing is configured to be worn on a finger of a user. The transmitter is disposed in the housing and configured to emit a first signal into the finger of the user. The receiver is disposed in the housing and configured to detect a second signal. The second signal represents a resonance of the first signal emitted by the transmitter through the finger of the user. The computer processor is operatively coupled to the receiver and is configured to detect a motion gesture of the finger wearing the finger ring with respect to another portion of the human body based on the second signal. In some cases, the transmitter is configured to emit an ultrasonic acoustic signal, a low voltage electrical signal, or a radio frequency signal.

Devices related to digital MEMS loudspeakers are discussed. Such devices may include an air pressure source, MEMS valves coupled to the air pressure source, and an audio modulator coupled to the MEMS valve to receive an audio signal and to control the MEMS valves via a modulation signal to provide an acoustic output.
