According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for performing the following. The apparatus obtains predicted Doppler spectrum information for a propagation channel between a first terminal device and one of an access node or a second terminal device calculated using a radio-aware digital twin. The predicted Doppler spectrum information includes information on one or more Doppler frequencies of a predicted Doppler spectrum resulting from reflections from one or more terminal devices capable of movement under control of the digital twin. The apparatus causes performing of measurements of one or more reference signals by a device associated with the propagation channel to a form a channel estimate. The apparatus calculates a measured Doppler spectrum based on the channel estimate and filters out the one or more Doppler frequencies from it. The apparatus adjusts a beam refinement interval of the device based on the filtered measured Doppler spectrum.

In some examples, a node for a telecommunication network includes a neural-network-based receiver for uplink communications. The node is configured to modify the neural-network-based receiver to generate a set of modified receiver frameworks defining respective different versions for the receiver, using each of the modified receiver frameworks, generate respective measures representing bits encoded by a signal received at the node, calculate a value representing a variance of the measures, and on the basis of the value, determine whether to select the signal received at the node for use as part of a training set of data for the neural-network-based receiver.

Flexible security rating and decision mechanism for machine type communications

A user equipment (UE) selects first and second radio resources from respective first and second pools of radio resources. In one example these are primarily allocated for contention-free and scheduling-based channel access, respectively. Content to duplicate in parallel communications is selected based at least on a characteristic of uplink data waiting to be sent (such as size) and/or on the selected first and second radio resources (such as timing difference between them). The UE transmits the selected content on each of the selected first and second radio resources. In the examples the content to duplicate was selected from among the uplink data to send and a scheduling request message. In various embodiments one of these transmissions indicates it's a duplicate, and the duplicated scheduling request message is transmitted on the first resource with the uplink data. These teachings are particularly useful for URLLC data.

Ultra-reliable low-latency communications support using grant free transmissions

Examples of the disclosure relate to receiver apparatus and corresponding transmitter apparatus that can be configured in different operational states at different times. An example receiver apparatus comprises a plurality of downconverting means for downconverting separate antenna signals, one or more analog to digital converters, and one or more multiplexing means configurable in at least a first configuration and a second configuration. When the multiplexing means is configured in the first configuration the plurality of downconverting means and the one or more analog to digital converters are configured to enable separate antenna signals to be combined to provide hybrid beamforming or analog beamforming. The hybrid beamforming or analog beamforming can be provided across the bandwidth of the apparatus. When the multiplexing means is configured in the second configuration the plurality of downconverting means and the one or more analog to digital converters are configured to enable separate antenna signals to be used to enable digital beamforming. The digital beamforming can be provided across a sub-section of the bandwidth.

According to an aspect, a method includes as performed by a network node of the radio access network: acquiring a first equalized signal representing a signal received by a first radio head serving a terminal device, the first equalized signal including a signal received by the first radio head from the terminal device; acquiring a second equalized signal representing a signal received by a second radio head not serving the terminal device, wherein the second radio head is spatially distant from the first radio head; cross-correlating the first equalized signal with the second equalized signal and determining, on the basis of said cross-correlating, whether or not the second equalized signal also includes a signal received from the terminal device; and as a result of the second equalized signal being determined to include the signal received from the terminal device, causing execution of an interference management action.

This document discloses a solution for performing anti-jamming procedures. According to an aspect, a method for a terminal device comprises: receiving a first reference signal allocation from an access node, wherein the first reference signal is unique to the terminal device in a cell managed by the access node; receiving a second reference signal allocation from the access node, wherein the second reference signal is shared with at least one other terminal device in the cell; causing transmission of payload data together with the first reference signal according to a regular transmission pattern; and breaking the regular transmission pattern by transmitting dummy data together with the second reference signal in a time-frequency resource shared with the at least one other terminal device.

According to an aspect, a method in the radio head comprises receiving a reference signal from a terminal device, and computing a channel estimate on the basis of the reference signal and transferring the channel estimate with a first precision level to the network node over a link between the radio head and the network node.
