The display apparatus includes a display configured to display a first image received from an external apparatus; a communication unit configured to receive a second image generated by capturing a user while the first image is displayed; an image processor configured to detect a point of gaze of the user from the second image; and a controller configured to determine whether the point of gaze is located in a preset region of the first image and control the communication unit to transmit the second image or a third image that is obtained by editing the point of gaze in the second image to the external apparatus based on a determination result.
