The present invention provides a heat sensitive recording material comprising a substrate and a heat sensitive recording layer formed thereon and having incorporated therein a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color acceptor reactive with the dye when contacted therewith by heating, the heat sensitive recording material being characterized in that the heat sensitive recording layer has incorporated therein a polyvinyl alcohol having an average polymerization degree of at least 1000 and a saponification degree of up to 90 mole %, and a modified starch.

Heat sensitive recording material

The heat-sensitive record materials have, between the base sheet and the recording layer, a middle layer which mainly comprises a binder and at least one pigment having an oil absorption of at leasat 80 cc/100 g measured by JIS K 5101. The middle layer comprises an acrylic thickener in an amount of 0.05 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the pigment on dry basis. The middle layer is formed by blade-coating on a base sheet a coating composition comprising at least one pigment having an oil absorption of at least 80 cc/100 g measured by JIS K 5101 and a binder, in which an acrylic thickener is comprised in such amount as described above.

Heat-sensitive record material and method for producing it

In a heat sensitive recording material comprising a substrate and a heat sensitive recording layer thereon containing a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color acceptor which is reactive with the dye to form a color when contacted therewith, the recording material characterized in that an emulsion containing complex particles of colloidal silica and at least one of acrylic polymer and styrene-acrylic polymer is added to a coating composition for the recording layer and/or a coating composition for a protective layer formed on the recording layer.

In a heat-sensitive record material having a heat-sensitive recording layer on a base sheet, a middle layer is formed between the heat-sensitive recording layer and the base sheet by blade-coating on the base sheet a coating composition which mainly comprises at least one pigment having an oil absorption of at least 80 cc/100 g measured by JIS K 5101 and a binder and in which the binder ratio is 5% to 16% by weight of the total solid and the solid amount is 35 to 55% by weight of the coating composition.

Heat-sensitive record material

In a process for preparing an acceptor coated sheet used in a pressure sensitive copying system utilizing a color forming reaction on a base sheet between the color former in the form of the oily core material encapsulated in microcapsules and the acceptor in an acceptor layer formed on said base sheet, the base sheet is coated with a composition comprising at least one acceptor and an aqueous emulsion of an oligomer of a hydrocarbon compound having 3 to 10 carbon atoms in total.
