In a manufacturing method for manufacturing a dispersion body, a plurality of types of solid particles, water, and a liquid other than water are mixed. The solid particles and the liquid are selected such that Hansen spheres of at least two types of the solid particles and a Hansen sphere of at least one type of the liquid mutually overlap, and a Hansen solubility parameter distance to water of at least one type of the solid particles of which the Hansen spheres overlap that of the liquid is greatest among all solid particles used in manufacturing of the dispersion body, and used to manufacture the dispersion body.

Manufacturing method for dispersion body and manufacturing method for ceramic sintered body

An exhaust gas purification filter is configured to he disposed in an exhaust passage in a gasoline engine. The exhaust gas purification filter includes partition walls including a plurality of pores, a plurality of cells partitioned by the partition walls, and sealing portions alternately sealing ends of a plurality of the cells in the exhaust gas purification filter. The partition walls each have an average pore diameter of more than 16 μm and less than 21 μm, and have a ratio of an average surface opening diameter of the pores in a partition wall surface to the average pore diameter of the partition wall of 0.66 or more and 0.94 or less.

Exhaust gas purification filter

An exhaust gas purification filter has a honeycomb structure body and upstream side plug members. Cell holes are composed of inlet cell holes and outlet cell holes. In a central area and an outer peripheral area, a gas flow channel cross sectional area Scof the outlet cell holes is larger than a gas flow channel cross sectional area Soof the inlet cell holes, where Sc&#x3c;So. A first ratio Rc is smaller than a second ratio Ro. The first ratio Rc is a ratio of Scand Sc. The second ratio Ro is a ratio of Soto So. In a first direction X and a second direction Y, the inlet cell holes and the outlet cell holes are alternately arranged, and the cell walls in the central area are larger in thickness than the cell walls in the outer peripheral area.

An exhaust gas purification filter comprises: a casing; a porous dividing wall which partitions the inside of the casing into a honeycomb shape; and cells enclosed by the dividing wall. A pore path length distribution of the dividing wall, when expressed by a frequency histogram per 10 &#x3bc;m of the pore path length of the dividing wall, has an integrated frequency of at least 58%. The integrated frequency is a maximum value of a value obtained by summing the frequencies of a total of three adjacent levels which include the maximum peak frequency. The dividing wall preferably has a gas permeability coefficient k of at least 0.8&#xd7;10m.

An exhaust gas filter purifies exhaust gas containing particulate matter emitted from an engine. The filter has cell walls and cells surrounded by the cell walls. Through pores formed in the cell walls, adjacent cells are communicated. The cells have open cells opening along an axial direction of the filter, and plugged cells. An upstream end part of the plugged cell is plugged by a plug member. On a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction, a flow-passage sectional area of the plugged cells is larger than a flow-passage sectional area of the open cells. A total length of the filter is not less than a first standard value and is not more than a critical length Lm determined by respective predetermined equations.

Exhaust gas filter

An exhaust gas purification filter collects PM contained in and purifies exhaust gas emitted from a gasoline direct injection engine. The exhaust gas purification filter has a honeycomb structural body which has a plurality of cells, partition walls and plug members. Each of the cells is surrounded by the partition walls. An opening section of one end of each of the cells is plugged by a plug member. The plug members satisfies a relationship of L/D&#x2264;50 and L&#x2264;3, where L is an average length (mm) of the plug members and D is an average pore size mm of the plug members. The honeycomb structural body and the plug members are made of cordierite. The cordierite contains silica, talc, kaolin, alumina and/or aluminum hydroxide, etc.

Exhaust gas purification filter and method of producing the same

An exhaust gas filter for purifying exhaust gases including particulate matter discharged from an internal combustion engine includes a honeycomb structure whose axial direction matches an exhaust gas flow, a plug portion which selectively plugs upstream end faces of the honeycomb structure which faces the exhaust gas flow, and catalyst carried on the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure has a plurality of partition walls and cells surrounded by the partition walls, and pores formed inside partition walls between adjacent cells communicating with each other. The plurality of the cells have open cells which are penetrated in the axial direction and plugged cells having one upstream end which face the exhaust gas flow plugged by the plug portion. The honeycomb structure has a first region which does not carry the catalyst on the partition walls and a second region which carries the catalyst on the partition walls.

A honeycomb structure body is comprised of a honeycomb body, a pair of electrodes, a pair of electrode terminals and one or more slit sections. The honeycomb body is comprised of a cell formation section and an outer skin section. The outer skin section has a cylindrical shape and covers the cell formation section. The electrodes are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the outer skin section so that the electrodes face with to each other in a radial direction of the honeycomb structure body. Each electrode terminal is formed in an electrode terminal formation section on the corresponding electrode. One or more the slit sections are formed in at least one of an electrode terminal formation section and a circumferential outside section of the electrode terminal formation section.

Honeycomb structure body

A honeycomb structural body has a honeycomb body and a pair of electrodes. The honeycomb body has a cell formation part and an outer skin part of a cylindrical hollow shape. The electrodes are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the outer skin part so that the electrodes face to each other in a diameter direction of the honeycomb body. Each of the electrodes has a reference electrode part formed at a central part of the electrode and one or more outside electrode parts formed at both ends of the reference electrode part. The reference electrode parts of the electrode face to each other. The outside electrode parts of the electrodes face to each other. An electrical resistivity of the reference electrode part is smaller than an electrical resistivity of each of the outside electrode parts in each of the electrodes.

Honeycomb structural body and electrical heated catalyst device

A honeycomb structural body has a honeycomb body and an electrode pair. The honeycomb body has a cell formation part and an outer skin part of a cylindrical-hollow shape. The electrodes are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the outer skin part so that the electrodes face to each other in a diameter direction of the honeycomb body. Each electrode has a reference electrode part formed at a central part of the electrode and one or more outside electrode parts formed at both ends of the reference electrode part. An electrode terminal is formed at the central part of each electrode. The reference electrode parts of the electrodes face to each other. The outside electrode parts of the electrodes face to each other. A thickness of each electrode is gradually decreased from the central part toward the outside of the electrode along the circumferential direction of the honeycomb body.

An exhaust gas purifying filter is made of a ceramic material in a honeycomb structure having introduction passages for introducing exhaust gas that includes particulate matter emitted from an internal combustion engine, porous walls that collect the particulate matter and exhaust passages for exhausting the exhaust gas after the particulate matter has been removed therefrom, with the porous walls supporting a catalyst for oxidizing and removing the particulate matter. The porosity of the porous wall is in a range from 55 to 80%, the mean pore size is in-a range from 30 to 50 &#x3bc;m, and the total volume X of the pores included in the exhaust gas purifying filter and the volume Y of the pores that are not smaller than 100 &#x3bc;m satisfy the relation of inequality Y/X&#x2266;0.05.

Method of manufacturing an exhaust gas purifying filter

In a method of manufacturing an exhaust gas purifying filter that captures and purifies particulates involved in an exhaust gas emitted from an internal combustion engine, a honeycomb mold body of a desired length is firstly made by an extrusion molding step. In a sealing and enlarging step, tapered front parts of a multi-taper jig are inserted into the corresponding openings of the cells. The multi-taper jig is then oscillatory moved in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal length of the ceramic mold body while heating the partition walls forming the cells, so that the opening of one cell is closed and sealed completely and the opening of the adjacent cell is enlarged in area. Finally, the honeycomb mold body is burned.

Manufacturing method of exhaust gas purifying filter

A filter catalyst is for purifying exhaust gases emitted from internal combustion engines and including particulates, and includes a wall-flow honeycomb structure and an upstream-side straight honeycomb structure. The wall-flow honeycomb structure includes inlet cells clogged on the downstream side of the exhaust gases, outlet cells neighboring the inlet cells and clogged on the upstream side of the exhaust gases, filter cellular walls demarcating the inlet cells and the outlet cells and having pores, and a catalytic layer formed on the surface of the filter cellular walls and/or the surface of the pores of the filter cellular walls. The upstream-side straight honeycomb structure is disposed on the upstream side of the exhaust gases with respect to the wall-flow honeycomb structure, is provided integrally with the wall-flow honeycomb structure, and includes upstream-side straight cells in which the exhaust gases flow straight, and upstream-side cellular walls demarcating the upstream-side straight cells.

Exhaust gas purifying filter with reinforced peripheral area and method for manufacturing the same

The present invention provides an exhaust gas purifying filter that has an increased contact area, between a catalyst supported on the dividing walls of a honeycomb structural body and particulate matter deposited thereon, and can improve the capacity of the catalyst to oxidize the particulate matter, and a method of manufacturing the same. According to the present invention, the exhaust gas purifying filtercomprising the honeycomb structural bodymade of ceramic and the catalystsupported on the surface of the dividing wallsof the honeycomb structural bodyhas void ratio, of the dividing wallof the honeycomb structural body, in a range from 55 to 80%, and the proportion of surface pores is 20% or higher.
